Hey All! I have MRR to a few audio CDs that I have been selling on ebay locally in Australia for a few years, however, now that I've discovered Kunaki's CD production and distribution services, I wouldn't mind looking into selling them online worldwide (preferably though my own domains and not ebay). My question is, is there an 'ethical' limit to how many you should sell? I know there are a few others with the same MRR selling these audio CD's, including the actual author, who I have much respect for. Basically the MRR license issued to me states that I may 'reproduce and sell the audio recordings on CD as long as I do not edit or transcribe the recordings', it says nothing about sales limits or location limits. Every MRR audio CD I have sold, I print the authors web address onto it, even though it isn't a requirement, I feel I am giving something back to the author with each sale. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Is the sky the limit? Allan V |

Unless your rights agreement states differently, the sky is the limit.

Thank you Lance! There is nothing in the rights agreement that states anything in regards to limits, just my overactive mind worrying about the 'ethics' of it. I suppose at the end of the day, I'm probably helping the author by promoting his business also. |

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Especially if you're crediting the original author. It's only going to be more exposure for him and you'll be reaching customers that we're previously out of reach with your old method of marketing. |

Thanks Josh! You've put my mind at ease, and it would be great exposure for him, considering I've already increased his exposure in Australia over the last few years! I have lots of respect for him and don't want him to think otherwise. |

Allan, If you're selling quite a few of them, give the author a call. See if they have other back end products and if they have an affiliate program for them. Then put an offer in with the product when you deliver it. Or, you could ask the author to do an exclusive interview with you. Give it away as a surprise bonus when you ship the product. The interview should contain valuable content. But it should also work as a "pre-sell" message for the author's back end product of choice. Then put up a site on a domain of your own that uses your affiliate link to sell that offer. |

Thanks Again Lance! You've given me alot to think about. I'm currently suffering information overload as I have spent almost 3 weeks solid just reading threads here on WF, and now just starting to process the information. Your last post really put my options into perspective! Thank you so much for the guidance. Now I will sit and write down a plan of action. The more I think about it, the more I really like the exclusive interview idea. The author doesn't seem to have an affiliate program (according to his website), but that doesn't mean that some sort of arrangement couldn't be made. |

Hi Lou, I've tossed around the idea of also getting a few people in my area to become sales reps and set up stalls in shopping centres, etc where they can earn commission themselves on sales. I believe the CD's will walk out the door, just by the sales we've had on ebay so far. Thanks for the idea with local newspapers! The sky really is the limit when you think about it! |

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've spent all day sitting down and writing an Action Plan. Its a fantastic MRR product, sold 17 CD's on ebay (Australia) this weekend alone! Here is a basic outline of my plans: 1. Set up national domain (.com.au) to market heavily in Australia (radio, print ads, local classifieds, etc). We've been brainwashed down here to 'only buy online from aussie sites'. Sales on this site we will produce and post the CD's ourselves. 2. Set up .com domain for worldwide market. I'll set this site up with Kunaki as the production and distribution for the CD's, so most of my time spent on this site will be SEO and traffic generating (ie, blogs, etc. Still an area for me to really learn, so it will be an exciting challenge). Lance, I'm also considering the idea of selling resale rights to others, but would keep this seperate from the above domains selling the actual CD's. Will also work on eventually trying to set up an affiliate program like mikeyman120 suggests. Thanks Guys for such awesome help! The sky really is the limit! |

Allan, also you don't have to limit an "in the box" offer to another of the same author's products. You can include any related offer. Even if you don't do it right away (I would) I'd make sure to eventually have some sort of additional offer. Otherwise you're leaving money on the table.
