It appears there are more than one Henry GOLD.......

I was going to offer to go beat the cr~p out of Henry as his business is located no more than a few miles from where I live......... but, why should I, all he's ever done for me is give me stuff ....... no strings attached and no aggro.

I haven't even had to endure the emails Prat opps sorry spelling mistake, Pat has been sending out.

That's the same one. When I first spoke with him, he was in Massachusetts. After that, every phone number for him was bad or went to someone else.

The one listed in the whois data for henrygold.com works, but the voice that's on the message doesn't sound anything like Henry. I wonder if he knows what happens when GoDaddy finds out that whois data for domains registered through them is bad?

As I said, I took it totally upon myself to take these legitimately sourced emails and import them into an autoresponder. Henry Gold was NOT informed of this fact, and the mailing would not have occurred if I had informed him because he would not have approved it.

If you knew he wouldn't approve it, then it certainly wasn't a good idea to do it!

I spend a lot of time dealing with spamfighters. I try to explain the marketer's perspective, and show them that the majority of people in the business are ethical, honest folk.

Every time someone pulls stupid crap like this, it makes it that much harder to keep the big picture in focus. Fortunately, this round is limited to people in the business.

He's still setting an example that needs to be squashed. I am not happy with someone teaching this kind of approach.

I don't think he gets the point - that being, NONE of the people on the list want to be spammed. Just look at the thread, a growing list of IMers that's like a warrior who's-who all appearing and mentioning that they too were targetted.

It's not rocket-science Pat/Henry. Destroy the WHOLE list and forget the idea forever, or don't. But what you are doing currently is not going to pacify the people here who you are spamming. They are probably not going to fall for the old 'OK I'll stop (chuckle)' trick.

Henry Gold never advocates the use of spam or bulk mailing and he always teaches there are no shortcuts to success. He teaches his students to do their best and to have an excellent reputation online.

So I am humbly asking that since I made this huge mistake, which I really am humbled and sorry about, that you could find it in your hearts to realize that I know NOW I really blew it.
