I can't believe my eyes. Is this for real?

On Saturday I've posted a article and today I've got 531 sessions and I've only had around 10 to 30 sessions a day during the 3 months I've had the website. One article had around 420 sessions and another one had around 110 sessions. My website had even a 508 usage error. What do you guys think is this just a lot of spam or am I doing something right. And if I should continue to do what I am doing should I think of getting a new hosting site because I am currently on a dedicated server from namecheap.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Spam? I guess you refere to referrer Spam, as its the only one I know of that produces sessions.

You can easily determine if its referrer spam by looking at the average session length (usually 0:00) and the sites/session (usually 1) and the referrer (usually set and always the same)

Here are the stats from the 531 sessions : bounce rate 14.69, users 511, pageviews 1144, average session duration 00.00.53, organic 3. I've saw that most of the page view sessions came from social media accounts.

It's possible that the article you posted has gone somewhat "viral".

If someone saw your article and liked it, and happened to share it to a social media group or audience, that might account for the rise in traffic.

This happens sometimes so I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility.

        Regards,
        Daniel

I was about to ask you to tell us what are the top sources for your traffic.
Usually spam comes from .xyz domains registered in Russia.
If your average session duration is 53 seconds and your traffic comes from social media, I don`t think that you are being hit by spam. As someone above me told you: Maybe your articles got "viral" and that is why you got that amount of traffic.
I can only tell you that you should keep up the good work.

I don't understand why you keep mentioning "changing hosting" - when you have a dedicated server. That doesn't make sense to me. Why keep questioning prior decisions?

You posted some time ago that you teach people how to be more productive in the workplace. But you seem to be focusing on the same numbers in multiple threads. That's not productive. You have a site - and hosting - and traffic is beginning to flow. That's a good thing.

Yes that's normal. Some content suddenly gets attractive.

BTW, I use NC for domains, but their hosting sucks or you have to seriously optimize your stuff. My minimal $10/mo Linode plan hosts my online store (400-500 visitors who quite heavily load hardware) plus blog (about the same amount of a bit lighter traffic) and I have yet to see overload.

I agree with most here. Chances are, based on your stats, your article resonated very well with someone and obviously their area friends n family and it caught fire cos it caught the right person who shared it for you. Well done.

Id go back and figure out.what made that article so hot and write a crap load more. Then figure put.what hosting you should use after

If this small amount of traffic is causing
    a 508 usage error.
then you're not on any kind of dedicated server that I'm familiar with.

You may be confused as even the cheapest shared hosting should handle 1000 PV with no problem.

A dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone else.
