First of all, you will need a product/niche. Which one? Your decision, and as it does not affect your budget, I assume it is not part of the question.

I would go for affiliate marketing, it pays good if you get quality traffic!

Then you will most likely need a website/webspace. I would go for a small wordpress hoster.
Wordpress is cheap, simple and powerfull.

After this step (you might want to learn a bit about wordpress if you do not want to waste your money on someone that handles it for you. its really easy!) you should have most of your budget left for marketing.

First of all: You might want to get as much free traffic as possible (SEO, social media, forums, whatever)

But now to your real question, what to spend you budget on: In my oppinion - but I am sure everyone got his/her own on this topic - facebook marketing works pretty good!
You have a high reach and good CPC values, and its easy to setup and for sure you can target your audience with it.

    Here’s what to do:
Step 1, find a niche. What do you like. Are you passionate about something?
Step 2, find out if you can profit from it on the internet. Tip, can you find a book on the topic on amazon? If people buys books/newspaper/ebooks etc. then there’s a market.
Step 3, go to Clickbank and find if there is any quality products you find interesting and are willing to promote to your friends. If there is, sign up and become an affiliate.
Step 4, get an autoresponder. I recommend Sendlane for a newbie. It’s easy to start even without a website. You can also go for Getresponse, Aweber, MailChimp etc.
Step 5, buy a good PLR eBook, rewrite it to make it unique and put your name on it.
Step 6, build a landing page, giving away the eBook for free in exchange for peoples email addresses (It’s really easy with Sendlane).
Step 7, Create autoresponder emails with quality information for your subscribers mixed with affiliate offers from Clickbank.
Step 8, promote your eBook on blogs, forums, social media etc.

That’s how you start, basically! Good luck!

With a $500 budget I would recommend you get into affiliate marketing:

    - domain name with privacy settings from Namecheap.com will cost you less than $15/year

    - high quality web-hosting with great support from WP Engine will run you $29/month

    - autoresponder from GetResponse will run you $15/month (for 1000 subscribers)

    - getting a high quality website/blog made might cost you $150 to $200

That's all you need to get started with a serious affiliate marketing business, and you'll have at least a couple hundred dollars left over for paid advertising.

Another good option with that budget is Kindle Publishing but I got started online with affiliate marketing so that's why I recommend you consider it.

    Regards,
    Daniel

First you will need to invest some money on training course on whatever online business model you will follow before getting started. For example if you like to start your online business as affiliate marketer, then go and pick up affiliate marketing training course. Or if you like to start on digital products creation, so you need to teach yourself on that filed.

    OP, you need more information.

Look, people are going to tell you to do what THEY are familiar with. That's all. Doesn't mean it's right for you.

You're wandering around now, with your backpack, and you're stuffing things you see into that backpack. "This looks interesting; I might need it."

    Keep looking.

Don't spend any money until you have clarity on what you want to do.

Almost anything will work. Stop looking to others for the magic bullet.

Jason is right - all, or at least many things work. But you haven't told us your skills, so how can we recommend things to try out? I could recommend you article syndication, for example, but I don't know if you can write. Others might recommend you making Udemy courses, but how would they know if you're expert on anything? Etc.

thank you this was useful answer
First I have a website feel Free to visit (Energize Your Power) I made this website to ClickBank Products (3 weeks diet ) . and i decided to make progress in ( health/fitness niche ) so i am good in WordPress , but for sorry not good in SEO and writing articles ( all articles in website written by writers in iwriter.com) with no quick result i gave up because i didn't know the *list Building* concept
so too many good friends here advised my to start first with Adsense
Q1 " can i use PLR articles and this will not harm my Adsense Account
        Q2 " can i make this website a multi niche (health-fitness(men/woman) / self development )
Q3 " i heard of multi adsense sites with same exclusive article up to 10 sites . is this strategy good and effective

        thank you especially
and thank you all , you all helped me so much today

From my 4 years of experience in this niche, here is my advice:

          - decide if you want to build a big authority website or just a small niche site. There are many articles online on the topic of "niche sites vs authority sites", so do a little research and decide

          - if you choose to have an authority site, then yes, you can definitely have multiple topics and categories (losing weight, gaining muscle, eating healthy, personal development, stuff just for women etc.). In this case you will regularly post new articles and try to gain loyal readers and fans on social media

          - if you choose to have a niche site, then go for a very narrow topic like "how to get a big biceps as a teenager" or "how to gain muscle over 60 if you suffer from arthritis" - you get the point Write about 10 good articles on that topic and then focus your efforts on SEO. After the website ranks good then you can build another one and then another and so on.

          Good luck!

      Very true.

Right now with all these 'different' replies OP is most likely even more confused as to what to do.

If you have $500 to start with, then that is good.

Many will tell you to keep your money in the bank and keep researching. Sure you do need to do 'due diligence' in order to find something that actually is a good fit for you.

My first online purchase was for $1,500 and I actually didn't even make on sale with that.

      Am I upset with that?

No. For me that first $1,500 was the best spend that I have ever made online yet.

      Why?

Because that money spent (and perceived loss) led to other things that actually did work like what really works...

      Becoming a 'proficient' marketer.

However, most people can end up in this state for years. I have read some posts about some members right here on WF who have been 'lurking' around for years.

Look, no decision will be the exact right decision on finding an idea that will surefire work for you.

97% of the people who will pursue this industry will try to make all the perfect decisions and to take all the right action.

      The problem?

There is no right decision or action that will guarantee your results.

What will guarantee your results is you making a 'decision' right now to start with something and persevering until you get what you came here for.

The other posters here have already gave you ideas like getting a website, blog, lead capture pages and autoresponder ETC.

Take your $500 and get started with something and do not quit. Keep moving forward. Nothing will move unless you move first. Nothing!

Here’s a brief video on Inertia (and how Newton’s 1st LAW) may be ‘blocking’ you (and it’s entertaining too):

      https://youtu.be/sabH4bJsxWA

      Get started and quit procrastinating.

The ONLY way to learn IM is by 'DOING', making mistakes, readjusting (tweaking), learning from mistakes and keep moving forward.

And the only way that you will ever find something that is for you is by going through the hoops and finding it through action.

    Well....

    1) You can sign up for a "done-for-you" program (if those work anyway)

    2) You can start an ebay business

    3) You can start an ebook business in 1 niche

No matter what business you choose.... just make sure that:

    - You invest in email autoresponder
    - You invest in good domain name and web hosting
    - You invest in good website design
    - You invest in good advertising and marketing
    - You invest in a good payment processor
    - You invest in a good course on internet marketing

Before near 2 years i started out with an Amazon Affiliate site.
Choose a niche you want and write some reviews or info articles about products.
Do some keyword research and first dominate the low competing keywords to rank high for these.

After a short time you can start building you email list and monetize your list with ebooks or discounts.

I think for beginners with a tiny budget it's overwhelming to start out with buying traffic rather than getting traffic from Google, because it's for "free".

Keep your money in your pocket until you figure it out.

There are several approaches to getting there.

Personally I'd decide on a niche first - because that will determine which of those other things you mentioned are even necessary to learn about and invest in.

Your path can be totally determined by the niche.

Otherwise, if it's burning a hole in your pocket feel free to pass it to me for safe keeping.

Its a legitimate question and you have every right to be concerned. Ive lost thousands over the years from rushing. Im glad you are stopping to ask.

Id figure out what i wanted to do first. You mentioned a few methods already. Me i decided on blogging and vlogging.

Immerse yourself completely in the niche you choose. Make sure its a niche not a market.

Find the leaders in your industry follow their blogs, training, social pages, youtube channel.... get immersed in their knowledge.

500 will not go far. So id reserve that money for business essentials not trainings or mentoring.

Apply everything you learn and start getting results. Once you do go for it. Reinvest your money. And keep building.

    Sam nuku good luck

Got a few advices for you.
First of all you got to put some effort on designing your website.

2)Change to a font that it will look better and will be easier to read.

3)Your website is a big mess try to organize it because you can barely understand what is going on there.

4)You need a lot more articles to improve SEO plus you can start a YouTube channel or a blog.

5)One of the best way in my opinion to increase your list is Solo ad, find someone who sell solo ad for your niche.

First things first I would choose a profitable niche, research the problems in that niche, find a solution to promote (affiliate marketing or create your own product/service), and focus on building an email list. You will need the basics like a domain, hosting, and an autoresponder. Then you can take the rest and invest in some form of traffic generation training or coaching and focus on getting targeted traffic to your squeeze page (a squeeze page is a page where you give something away for free in exchange for a visitor's email address).

Best business model in your case I think is this one:

Build a list and make money at the same time.
In future you will be able to sell to your list again or make solo ads.

    Steps:

    - Get sales funnel, you will need squeeze page, give away free product to your subscribers and OTO, so you will be making money as I said at the same time. Also you will be able to promote products via your free report and thank you page.

    - Advertise you sales funnel through FREE WSO.

    Hope that helped.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[10565851].message }}
  • spend $50 on a great wso on information product creation & another $50 on wso on list building that has awesome reviews from other people who have bought those wso's & actually made money with them. Then spend the half of the rest of your budget setting up your online salesfunnel. Then spend the remainder of your budget on advertising sending targeted buyer traffic to your sales funnel.

Make sure you make a good return on your investment on your advertising investment before you reinvest more money into the advertising medium where you are getting your targeted buyer traffic from

    Basically 3 major components:

    - Product
    - Opt in list
    - Traffic

Start with product, here're a few options:

    - create your own
    - sell your skills as freelancer
    - flipping products online (ebay, craiglist, amazon...)
    - promote other people's product as an affiliate.

Keep that 500$ safe in some account. And research first. When you say online. There is not only traffic or clicks involved. Yes It plays an imp role. But its not only thing. You need to research the market. Then you need to look at your capabilities. At what thing you are best at. Now add the two points. You got your idea to start. From here you can use that 500$.

In my opinion, I think the best thing for you to do right now is get educated in internet marketing and reading the basics of how it works. After getting a high level of different aspects of internet marketing from landing pages, paid traffic to affiliate marketing, then you should choose which route to take.

Investing blindly is not a good idea, it is like throwing your money down a river. Get educated, learn the basics and then make an informed decision.

    Good Luck.

That's great that you're ready to jump into the online marketing business! Congrats on taking the first steps as it can be super overwhelming.

What I would suggest and what I'm sure everyone else who ever made money online would suggest, is to do some homework and figure out what you need to be doing before you actually do it. If you just jump in trying to do what everyone else is doing…it may or may not work for you.

What I suggest is to start out with some free step-by-step training like at Project Breakthrough. It doesn't cost a thing for the training and literally holds your hand and gives you the step-by-step about what you should be doing to start making money online in as little as 14 days.

I usually don't recommend very many programs, but after actually doing this one myself, I learned a TON!

Anyways, I hope that helps and good luck!

$500 is a level of money that can be well invested, or blown fast.

When I first started I blew $800 on PPC without much results.

You could think, mate, why did you not just cancel the campaign? well, back then I knew hardly anything, about anything.

$500 you can lose easily. But whta you have to remember is that $500 should be invested the best way in domain, hosting, and building a list. I know that it sounds simple, but there are marketers on here in the forum, with 2 page websites, making a killing.

One of our two page websites is doing $500 a week, and we have a few of these.

But if you are not spending money on TRAFFIC [paid traffic] and you are not spending time building a list, by sending all your traffic to a LEAD page or SQUEEZE page you will not win at this game.

Remember this money is an investment, so start out small, and when you see headlines on your lead page working, scale up and go nuts.

When I first started, I thought leads were crap, now as an aged marketer, I know that 10 leads a day coming into my business from targeted traffic, can change my life. And how hard do you think it is, to bring in just 10 leads a day. NOT HARD AT ALL!!!, really it is not.

The difference between, people in here saying all this does not work, and some saying they are doing well, is they are generating fresh leads to their business from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed.

So with your $500 that is a good start, ask yourself, where can you get the highest quality leads with that money. BING, GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, TWITTER, PRESS RELEASE.....and then go from there. Spead $100 or $150 on a test, and see what works better, then upsscale.

Its going to be hard your first, time, but I say, you are not really buying TRAFFIC, you are buying data and results. Keep that data, and use your next lot of $500 on the source that works the best.

Invest in your knowledge too. But most the good marketeres in here, will tell you to spend money on a domain, hosting and a nice leads page......that will be more than you need to start earning money each month.

    Good luck., hope it helps.

I suggest you calm down and keep that money in your pocket. The first thing you need to do is learn to sell. Whether you become an affiliate, product creator, blogger, etc... in order to make money you're going to have to have an understanding of what makes people buy. The biggest mistake I see many marketers make is jumping head first into some make money method without have a foundation in salesmanship. As a marketer you are a salesman. Everything else is secondarry.

    Great affiliates are salesman first

    Great info-marketers are salesman first

    Great bloggers are salesman first

Great offline consultants are salesman first

I think you get what I going here.

The most boring thing to do is usually best thing to do first. Which is study salesmanship/copywriting.

Learn how to create powerful sales messages.

Then when you have your head around how to get other people to spend many with you then invest your $500 in methods of finding and attracting people to what you have to offer.

so... have you decided on one yet? Just make sure that when you want to make money online, all you have to do is find a product that people are willing to buy and sell it to them whether that is your own product or other people's products.

Simplest path to take is to sign up with clickbank.com as an affiliate. Pick a hot selling product like reversing diabetes. Create a review or your own way of explaining what is all about the product through a blog and at the end of your article, you would recommend the product using your affiliate link. You can use blogger for this. Drive targeted traffic to this blog through facebook ads targeting people in the US aging 40 and above.

Watch your ad expenses and compare it to your conversions. Make sure that you make more than your expenses. Keep improving and expand your reach through sponsored tweets on twitter and always ensuring that you make more than what you spend. There may be some losses and this is where you should review your affiliate campaign on what needs to be improved.

I hope that can be the easiest route for you to get started and earn commissions without so much hassles on creating a brand new affiliate site with your domain and hosting.
