Is this a good way to test drive an online course?

Hi guys, I am looking for feedback on how to get feedback/testimonials for an online course before launching:

Background
I want to launch a paid course teaching people how to get 1k followers onto their Instagram account. But before that, I want to get feedback and testimonials on the effectiveness of the course, so that i can improve the course and use the testimonials for marketing. I will do this by inviting 1000 (100? 300? 500? 1000? dont know how many to choose) people to take my course for free. In addition, I can gain email leads and vital info on my avatar for helping millennials develop an online business.

Testing outline
• Invite people to join by opting in to email list, answer survey of (questions are: age, gender, aim of creating IG account), send link to fb group
• Wait until x number of people in group before starting, meanwhile engage and interact with audience to hype it up etc.
• Once I have reached desired # of people, I will post pre-made video lessons onto facebook group
• Have mid-way survey (when demo account has 500 followers) asking what to improve on
• Continue until demo account hits 1k
• Send out post-survey asking for feedback and testimonials
• Take down videos on the facebook group, proceed with launching of course
Is this an effective strategy? how many people should i enroll for free?

Take 5 dollars and stick an ad in the "warriors looking to hire you" where you can offer your thing for free and ask for reviews.

I would say like 100-300 should be enough to get valuable feedback, everything else is just missed profit :-)

If you're really clever, you could just charge a low starting fee on a dime sale, and explain that the cost is low because you are looking for feedback on the course.

This way you also get an actual buyers list going.

I like that idea, i can separate out those who are just trying to get free stuff from those that are actually willing to provide feedback. How would i advertise for that though?

You can advertise in this forum in the appropriate places.

I'm guessing you are looking for marketers who are looking to increase their traffic flow via instagram?
