I Need you to help me help you but seriously I need your help

I have been in internet marketing for about 15 years now off and on but now that I've found my calling as a personal development coach it's time to get serious. I love helping people who want to improve their lives and create a better life for their family. So I decided to help teach and coach people who want to become entrepreneurs.

This journey is going to be a tough one but it's also going to be a lot of fun. Enough rambling here's where I need your help.

I'm starting a youtube show where I will answer questions and give tutorials on various topics related to internet marketing, entrepreneurship and positive mindset training.

What topics would you all be interesting in learning?

What would you like to know how to do?

I'm looking forward to you all feedback and helping everyone.

I'm no guru but I try my best to cover every topic to the best of my abilities and hopefully we can teach each other a thing or too.

You could show a complete walk-through from scratch to a small niche site :-)

That way, as every step builds onto the one before, you might get a lot of regular streamers.

Also, its what most people seem to be interested in, as its the hardest thing: The beginning up to a small project.

Show how to get a wordpress up and running, where to get ideas for content, how to write good content, how to add a mail-list, how to .... well you get the picture!

I don't have any questions for you.

What I can advise for you is to go on Amazon, and look for books by similar coaches and grab their table of contents to get ideas for a schedule/agenda.

Go find other youtube channels doing the same thing and have a look at their videos and topics - and take notes on those ideas too.

Come up with your own teaching plan, and just get 10-15 lessons done and up and then start looking into feedback from those to see where to go next.

It doesn't matter too much what the few people replying on this thread will tell you. You may get a couple of ideas, but you need a better structured focus IMO.

You will be building a community of "your own people" and it's those people you will need to answer to.

The best way to get content ideas is to observe those places where your audience hangs out online.

This might be niche forums, blogs, Facebook pages/groups - you get the idea.

You then take note of what topics are being discussed/shared.

That's what you should create content around.

Another good source of content is to look for and purchase best-selling books on Amazon in the respective niche; this gives you tons of valuable content to share with your audience.

    Regards,
    Daniel

I second Jill's recommendation, but allow me to add a spin to it: once you have a list of topics widely covered by popular books/YT channels, try to come up with something provocative on the same topics. Regurgitating what Tony R & Co. says will only get you so far. But tackling the same subjects from a different angle, or even downright trying to debunk them, well, will get you a lot more attention.

Other places to look for ideas to cover would be popular magazines - they sell ads for a living, and the only way to charge more is to have more people reading them. And guess how you get more people reading them? That's right, by giving them what they want.

If don't have a list already...

You should start generating a list, survey your list, then put content out, then follow up with offers or whatever your main goal is after delivered the show/value. Plus, direct people from youtube to your sign up page, so generating lists/audience and business as well.

Youtube can be powerful, but a lot people forget you don't own yotube, so want to get people off to your channel so can generate leads and continue to grow and make money.

You want to share your successful Entrepreneurial methods?

Write a book, or have one written.

If you want to start your own cult, to have followers....people who pay you to coach them...you need some cred, real or perceived. Fastest way to do that is to write a book, or, since you are here, run a WSO.

Tons of coaches right here, all trying to help people and coach them to success, all you have to do is join the parade and learn some Internet Marketing Copywriting (See WSO section for examples).

So, what would you title your book?

Yep so true. Unfortunately, it has been a huge problem because many of these folks have no business Coaching at all. Especially, when they Coach others how to be Coaches to others wanting to be Coaches

I do not think OP is in that boat but it is hard to sometimes figure out who is. And can be a headache

This is why I avoid coaches and mentors. I also tell people they probably do not need a coach or mentor. Most information people need can be found for free or very inexpensive products. Just use due diligence

This is correct in most cases! I believe the true purpose of a mentor or coach is to help people learn and improve their life 10x faster than they would on their own, that's true coaching in my opinion.

I agree that's mainly why I want to help people get started using free valuable guidance and content. I have purchased so many crappy books and products over the past years. I told myself I refuse to publish crappy content and charge people for it. Nor will I charge for coaching until I know 100% I can coach you into success.

My question to you is this:

Rather than try to be a jack-of-all-trades and teach people things that you *don't* know how to do, what are you personally, right now, an expert in?

For example, I do conversion optimization and I run businesses for a living. My partner does most of the copywriting/content creation. I would have very little reason to create a guide on copywriting. My expertise is in the management and optimization of the business.

Just because someone wants to learn something, doesn't make it something you are qualified or should get qualified to teach.

That's why most coaches are garbage. They coach things that they have no business coaching

As of now I am a specialist in web design and social media marketing and I'm studying psychology which Is what I have a passion for. I am great at giving advice and helping people manage their life and change their way of thinking for the better.

I've been in internet marketing for so long I would like to help others and give others advice on it.

This is where I'm torn... Do I help guide people in something I already know which is Social media marketing or do I go with my passion and something I'm naturally good at which is helping people feel better about themselves.

I agree one can not be a jack of all trades without lacking expertise in all areas.

You've been it extremely easy now

You need to develop your business around your current expertise. This is what people will pay you for. Then, you take your passion and integrate it into your coaching.

From what I can tell you can certainly teach keystone habits (for long term change), deep focus activities and positive mindset (for their overall betterment) within your coaching. We started to use keystone habits in my business and we've quadrupled our ROI within 10 months.

Also keep in mind most of the people who are searching for coaches like you are either new in IM or are trying to build their own business. You'll get opportunities to change lives in both scenarios. If you focus the newer IM guys, then you can enstill lasting change with them every time, but keep in mind their pockets are much smaller.

I just signed a $2,500/mo contract for someone to run just a small project in Facebook for my company. Getting that kind of money for a single client would be harder when you're working with the newer crowd (seems like that's who you want to focus)

What would you like to know how to do?

Isn't what you're asking really the same thing that any niche business owner should ask prior to going into business?

It's called basic online marketing research. You are trying to find what demand is already in the marketplace. What questions are out there? What problems need solving? What desires, needs, and wants do prospects in the niche have?

Do your market research and you will have all the answers you need to keep you busy for a long time.

If you have a list I would recommend you send out a broadcast asking this same exact question you're asking here. I get a lot of my ideas for content and products by asking my subscribers what they need help with.

As far as positive mind training goes. I would be interested in knowing more about the benefits of focus and some daily habits that would help me to focus better.
