There is no I in TEAM...

I'm sure you have already heard this expression
and I can not express how true it is. If you are
an online entrepreneur or the good ol' fashion
networker that hold parties at your home.

I've been dabbling in both the online and home
parties now for about 2 years. I always seemed
to have struggled, being that my home party
sponsor was based out of Florida, while I'm based
in New Jersey. Getting prospects to my house
was almost impossible because, well, heck there
was no excitement or someone to lead by example.
My online businesses... well I took that on by myself.
I bought programs to get leads, to generate leads,
and well quite Frankly...again there was no excitement.

I truly believe I wasn't doing anything wrong. It was that
I wasn't surrounding myself with the right people. Quite
honestly, why would people follow me and be interested
in what I have to say and become part of my inner circle.

I then came across a team, an existing team. A team
that took me in, and was able to help promote ME, and
show ME the ropes into online promotion and how to
gather team members. Let's face it, there are people
that are naturals and can have an immediate following, BUT
that is not the majority of us.

I did learn a lot of 'stuff' while purchasing different programs
and systems, but the difference is...now I have an audience.
The audience that accepted me, and now willing to listen to
me. We all gather from each others experience and we are
able to hit the deck running.

All this time I wasn't doing anything wrong, I just
realized there is no I in TEAM.

No I but there is a ME

I've always advocated masterminding, coaches and mentors so I'm right with you on that.

However...... There are many reasons in life for being able to rely on yourself and not having other people around you or showing you the way is not an excuse for lack of success.

It sounds like your main problem was that you were never truly passionate about what you were doing. When you're completely behind and passionate about your business - it rubs off. Other people get drawn to people who have passion (because so many people don't).

Many people new to IM use their working alone as an excuse but that's all it is - the main thing you need to be successful at anything is belief - expectation of success and passion.

Actually, in Japanese we say "Chiimu" (the katakana reading of "team")

Hmmm, now what was my point?

Lol, Mr Money Maker... Yes this is true, but I'm sure some of these guys has a coach or has had one, maybe a personal trainer, and possible a manager...

Anyway, I do see your point. However, I'm sure the greatest marketers on the planet didn't write all their own articles, create their own websites, artwork etc.... and if they used to, they don't anymore.

It does bring up some interesting discussion, though we can all still remain friends.

I think everyone who puts in serious effort will have success at some level, depending on their drive....

      Nice thread...

I gotta say yep there is no I in Team... but there ain't no U in Team either.

Just something to think about in any downtime you may have.

That having been said, it is amazing what a group of people can accomplish when no one cares who gets the credit. That is what I call a team...

Winners come many ways....in teams and individually.....the greats in all walks of life learn best in whatever field they are in..such as..in sports, an Olympic Champion Marathon Runner...pushes harder than anyone in any sport....they don't jogg a marathon..they run at about 4.48 Mile pace...the whole way....26.2 miles.....
Most of you couldn'reading this couldn't run only 250 yards with them during their 26.2 mile race......and...there's no team sport there!!
Yet the champion runner has the mind set and desire to bet better than the best...and the push to train and run harder than anyone in the world for 2 hours and 5 min.........

This kind of person is tougher than anyone you'll ever meet mentally....if he was to go into Internet Marketing, he pull out everything he could use to beat you.
Most of you don't understand this.......you just want to make fast money online.
Good luck....because these guys rule....maybe Internet Marketers are not champion runners.....but they have the mindset to beat you into the ground masterminding Sales and Marketing Startegies...they don't just use..SEO Techniques.....they create and invent them.
By the time you finally figure out how they made there money 5 years will have past by....and they have moved on to selling another 50 products you never heard of.

The best people in Internet marketing are not team players.....it's really the genius of what one man can do, as he out fox's the world wide web......and do it legally.
This is being creative and 100% original.....and I know a few of you know what I am talking about.....we make money online...not to just make money....but to play the game to win...and crush the competition.....Do we not?.....yet we can all still remain as friends...... Thanks

There's no I in team, but there is an I in victory AND failure. The point? You can be on a team, but you are the one who is ultimately responsible for what happens to you; win or lose.

In fact, you are where you are right now because of you. Sorry to all of those with the victim mentality out there.

    All the best,

Whenever I hear someone say there's no I in team, I reflexively respond with "yeah, and there's no U either". Looks like Netpiddler and I agree on that. Not sure if he actually says it to people, though, but I do.

Thank you all, for the great input... some made me laugh some made me think...
Mr Money Maker, you make some very valid points. And I do believe it is the guys thinking out of the box, that are the online success stories. It made me look closer at what my team and I are doing, and in the end we are basically following what someone has already done to make them successful. Can it make us successful, yea, but not as much as the master planner behind it. Now I've got some serious thinking to do! Thanks again all!

I have always had a hard time putting trust in other people, so I end up relying solely on myself. However, it's always great to outsource/share some of your work. Still, I'd rather do something that I enjoy and do it to the fullest extent.

I got that occasionally from people I used to work with. The big thing that no one ever mentioned is that in 'day job' environments, you rarely get to choose your team. I've been stuck working on a 'team' with people who can't/won't get anything done, and I end up doing all the work, but somehow the 'team' gets the credit. Total garbage.

Putting your own team together, of people who complement your strengths and make you better, that's a whole other story. But the "there's no i in team" crowd don't ever seem to make the disctinction.
