I have $2500 in Cash. Where do I invest it online?

There are no existing products/services/business systems with me.

I just want to grow this money through the internet instead of putting it away in a C.D.

Some of my ideas were:

  1. Article marketing for any affiliate product
  2. Start a blog and outsource articles... earn via CPC, Banners & Aff.
  3. Try a PPC Campaign (need more nerves... not ready to lose money!)
  4. Outsource an ebook and sell it online via ClickBank
This is my box... need to get out of it

I do not recommend going the PPC route, it can eat up your funds really fast. I would buy content and create blogs that promote affiliate products. (Plus having Adsense on there would be a plus).

      Thanks for sharing that Amy.

Yes, I agree. PPC can kill you. A buddy of mine used the word "MySpace" and bid on it a few years ago. He bid high like over $5.00 a click. Then his Internet went out and woops... He had a mega bill. This is not a wise thing to start out with.

      Cheers!

  • I wouldnt rule out PPC altogether. He has $2500 to spend. I would look into PPC to CPA, but only budget what you feel comfortable losing on a PPC campaign...if you wanted to go the PPC route.

First investment I would make is....$37.00 to join the War Room...Study long & hard...be like a sponge & soak it all in...

Next....Sign up for Paul Myers newsletter (free)...

Next....Look into Kevin Riley's Product creation workshop. At the very least...sign up for his product creation newsletter...

That's as good of a start as I can suggest to anyone...if that line up doesn't motivate you to make money online...not much will.

Save your money...invest your time for now!
What you'll learn will point the direction you need to go....then invest in your yourself by having your own products produced...

With whats left over...I suggest a bottle of '94, nappa valley Merlot...A couple 1 1/2" thick rib eye steaks...shared with your significant other..that's always a wise investment.

        Jagged,
I would agree on your recommendation for the product creation lab workshop. Seems to be a hands on product to help test your organization, drive and motivation. Anything is going to take work I reckon. I found this out when I was a member of Site Sell for around the same money. Its all a learning process I guess.
Have your tried this Kevin Riley's system yet?

I would say to take about 1/2 of it and invest it into a site that someone is selling that is already producing income. For $1200 you should be able to pick up a site making around $100 a month.

Then you just spend the other half on that site. Outsourced article marketing, outsourced bookmarking/blog commenting, directory submissions, etc...

Why mess around and *hope* your site can make money when you can buy one that already is making money.

Save your money for a little while longer. Before plunking down any money try testing with some of the free resources first like article writing and blogging to promote affiliate products. Once you learn the business and start generating an income, then start upgrading to outsourcing and paid services. $2500 is really not much at all and could go fast.

Once you've got a good idea for a product definitely invest the money there. Spend 80% of the money have the product developed by good people. Give the product away to some people with lots of pull and watch the money come in.

I d buy websites that already make money! This way all
of the work is done and you can put a little extra money
    in for promotion!

You can find sites 4 sale @ flippa.com and forums.digitalpoint.com

People also sell sites with the rights to their own products as well,
so you don't have to know anything about product creation.

Put the money in the bank...and invest time into your mind...learn to become a top Internet Marketer and if you do, you'll make money not invest money.
When I started out, I was really down and out and took 200.00 and made $3500.00 in 5 days. Within a month $26,500.00 about.
It changed my life forever !!
The key to making money online is knowledge....anyone can use the Internet to make money online. Just think of Google as you online "College of Internet Knowledge".
Ask google anything....and you may be shocked that with some research you can find the answers to almost anything for free....sure you have to weed through the websites selling junk...but keep at it, the real info is out there.
Did you know I learned the Internet by posting the hardest to learn high tech html codes into Googles Browser and Google responded by telling me what those codes meant.
I would spy on top ranked website and watch to see what made them tick....if I didn't understand a code....I would search untill I figured it out...including Top secret codes I broke that only a handful of top internet business gurus used.
Yes I went to a real college.....but I learned computers, by teaching myself many years ago to look for secrets to how the Internet really works.
And if I can do it...so can anyone. It's called desire to succeed.

Are you looking for short or long term ROI? If I was to go long term I would buy an existing website that generates consistent monthly revenue and take it from there. In general most websites lack quality SEO work, so with a bit of time and effort you could dramatically improve the revenue. If you are not happy after a few months sell it one for more than you bought it for.

I agree that you should invest in a site that is already making money. I've done it. It's really "buying your income," and piggybacking on someone else's success. However, you must be very careful in what you buy and who you buy from. There are scammers out there creating fake screenshots of their payment processors. Make sure you use a service like escrow.com for the transaction and make sure that the seller gives you a guest login to their third party processor so that you can verify the income claims. If they don't want to do that, run as fast as you can.

    Here's my suggestion...

Hold on to your money, or most of it, and buy Commonsense Direct and Digital Marketing by Drayton Bird.

It costs just over $40 from Amazon.

Read it thoroughly (it should take about a week or two to read it all).

Then decide what you want to do from there.

I guarantee you'll thank me afterwards.

    Well this is easy...

Just listen to Tina from Los Angeles talking about all the monies she makes. (But hurry; it won't be $39.95 for ever.)

    Your welcome,

    Zach

P.S- Even though the product isn't running now this was a joke. And making money online is not that easy. I'm pretty sure Jeff even went to jail for a bit for these, didn't he?

P.P.S- If I were to invest that i'd go to Clickbank and pick a niche I really like that I could easily become an expert in.

I'd test out some of the offers in that niche and read up on it. Than after making sure there is a demand out there for the niche I would make a sales page better than the other offers with a product that over delivers and has a series of upsells.

Of course that sounds easy. But it never exactly works out as planned.

But that's a good way to spend all your money on something that is almost guaranteed to work.

P.P.P.S- You should have a bigger budget before getting into PPC/PPV. Although you could get into it now you run the risk of hitting a few bad attempts, remember not many are winners, and losing all the money.

As others have said, PPC can kill you if you don't know what you're doing. Having said that, I recommend that you read around and don't throw your money at anyone's product just yet. Find something that seems suiting to your situation and commit to it.

I would invest $1k in expired, quality domains with existing traffic, PR and backlinks.

Park the ones making good money.

    Develop the rest.

Sell the developed ones when they get to $1/day - quite easy with quality expired domains.

    Rinse. Repeat.

      Here'a simple blueprint:

1)Identify a niche with low competition and high search counts ($0)
2.Find a bestselling CB product related to your niche($0)
      3.Set up an opt-in page($7 a month or $84 a year)
4.Build backlinks till you reach Google's 1st page and ranked in the top 3
(Angela + Paul's Backlinks $13 a month or $156 a year) and (Winson Yeung backlinking service $100 for 150 backlinks)

      Total Cost= $84 (Website) + $156(Paul and Angela's Backlinks) + $100(Winson Yeung Service) = $340

One niche will only cost you about $340 and since you have $2500, you can afford to repeat step 1-4 for another 6 niches to make solid money!!

      My 2c..

The best way forward is good old hard work involving physical goods. I have tried digital products but there is so much involved in terms of finding out the right product or Niche.

With physical product, you can settle on a product you love or if you are in it for the money a product in demand. Note that there are 4 seasons in a year and that means market tastes "change".

Think about it, research it then go for it.

Why don't you partner with someone with a product idea? The 2500 could take care of things like site design and a pro account at JVnotify. Assuming the partner you teamed up with has some copy writing skills, this is all you'd need to launch an assault on Clickbank. That 2500 seed money could easily turn into $25,000

    My 2 cents.

    How about a vacation?

You should get a rather nice place in the
sun for that kind of money. ;-)

    Sorry!!

Now, what I would strongly recommend you
do it get a personal mentor.

At one point I had three - two in the US and one
in the UK. (Now I have one.)

Having that drive behind you and with you
    is brilliant.

However, be careful... your selection must
    be carefully undertaken.

Today, I was talking with someone who
wants me to be their mentor. I gave two
hours of guidance, suggested they work
on the issues we discussed for next week
and after that we'll see where we go
from there. We didn't discuss fees,
    times, how etc. etc.

It's a crucial relationship and has to be
right for both sides. If you find that a
possible mentor is telling you fees and
what he or she will do right away, steer
clear and find someone who has "your"
    interest at heart...

    I hope this helps...

Don't do anything yet. First of all, study and learn about all the possibilities you have. Besides reading what people post on forums, sign up for free trials. This means that you'll have around two weeks or a month, depending on the offer, to learn about a certain method of making money online, as if you were a regular subscriber.

Learn as much as you can during the free trial, and then cancel your subscription. Look for another interesting program. Sign up again for another free trial and so on, until you'll learn enough from many experts, and only then make your decision.

    Creative Thinker,

If you are a newcomer to this game the best advice I could give you is to invest at least half of the money in your own education. It's true that there's a lot of info out there for free but when you're starting out you don't know what to focus on and a lot of what you'll find is misleading cr*p and will waste your time (and life).

The truth is that to make any money online you need to know how to generate traffic. This is not easy. If it was we'd all be sitting on the Copacabana beach sipping pina coladas rather than bumming around late at night in the Warrior Forum

All the other stuff (creating websites, graphic design, article marketing, ecommerce, blogging, marketing etc) is either easy or easily outsourced. But it's all a waste of effort (and money) if you don't know how to generate traffic.

If you can invest some money acquiring up-to-date skills in the art and science of getting traffic you'll be well placed to use the rest of your money wisely, outsourcing the stuff you don't want to do or don't have time to do.

Money can't buy you an easy entry to IM but it can help you learn where you need to be.

    Good luck!

    Sarah
