Is it hard to delegate coaching if you are the face of the business?

Has anyone successfully built a personal brand that offered coaching in a niche and gone on to delegate coaching to other people? I'm concerned that people won't want to pay hundreds of dollars per month to work with someone else "I've trained" when they've been reading my materials, building a connection to me, and wanting to learn directly from me.

    I sure wouldn't.

If you tell people upfront who will be doing the actual "coaching" it shouldn't be a problem.

I actually know someone who was very successful at doing something similar…

They were/are the face of the company but as it got bigger and bigger, brought in people to help him out. What he did was to start putting the new person's face with his in the marketing stuff so people would see both of them. After a while of doing the coaching together and having both of their faces on all the materials, he was then able to fade back a little more and not be as involved with the coaching as much.

I know it worked for them pretty well. I hope that helps and good luck!

It is just like any of the major businesses that get spawned off one successful person.

Think about all the swimming schools established by Olympic swimmers. They don't generally hop in the pool with all the kids every week.

They make the odd appearance and remain the public face of the business.

Many training and coaching businesses work this way.

    All the fitness businesses.

In IM look at how DigitalMarketer does it.

Ryan Deiss doesn't conduct any training.

He gets his traffic specialist, his Social media specialist, his Conversion specialist.

He may do the introduction and the sales video but more often than not he is not even doing that because his team are already familiar to the market.

    Kind regards,

    Ozi

While Ryan originally branded himself, he has now successfully branded his company. By establishing his own brand first, it becomes much easier to accept another of his brands (a product or a company) when he is promoting that new brand.

He can successfully leverage his personal brand every time he releases a new product to gain immediate attention for that product. He can easily lend his credibility to a new service during pre-launch/launch and very quickly establish a new brand for that service and change the market's perception so that they expect service from the company/service, rather than from him personally.

If people are under the impression that YOU are the expert and YOU will be doing the coaching.... then YOU should do it. Don't delegate to someone else who could wake up one day and have a bad morning, and mess up a lucrative client for you. You will more than likely have to change and specify WHO EXACTLY will be doing the coaching.
