Should I build a niche video website??

So the last few days I've been researching building a niche video website.

Theres a few scripts out there that make this quite easy as they pull the video's from Youtube.

I just have a few questions.

1) will this be profitable? Has anyone tried anything like this?

2)Will I rank well in the SERPS if I'm pulling video's from youtube?

    What do you mean a niche video website? As in another YouTube?

    If so, why would you want to rip videos from YouTube to put on your site?

    Otherwise, I don't really understand your question, could you revise please? =)

    Hey Waloosh,

    I came across a script called Niche Video Site Builder (and a few others). It creates a niche site packed full of videos which are taken from Youtube for example about Golf (or at least that's what I understand about it). I was planning to monetize this website and try make an income from it.

    Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't see how you can make money from that. When YouTube first came out, it was based primarily on donations, nothing else. Now that Google owns it, it makes money from Google.

    For a specific video site like that... I really don't see how you could make money from it. Maybe I just don't know something about it, lol.

    Only way I can see anybody making money from something like that is if all the videos are 100% useful, like tutorials and mostly gain revenue on ads and donations.

    Other than that, I'm not really sure, maybe someone knows something I don't about ripping videos from YouTube? lol

    If you have a very high in demand service and other people online can't find these video's any place else..then you could make some money.....but....it really comes down to driving in millions of hits a month fron the Internet.
    Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done.........but do a ton of research first....and be creative and original....and be the best at ranking your site on google....just because you have video's doesn't mean anything in getting ranked on google.
    So do your home work first.....or read my new website I am building and get some idea's......the best idea's I have yet to post there...the sites still underconstruction.
    Some of the info I post soon will rock the Internet about selling online....so bookmark my site....it will always be free

    l think it all boils down to the niche you're targeting.Otherwise l'll suggest a membership site for a thing like this.

    The real thing however is that whatever you intend to do should not be the type that anybody could get so very free from Youtube,for instance.

    This could work but I suggest not using scripts that pull and select the videos for you. It's better to use a script that allows you to embed videos from youtube (or anywhere else) and personally select the best videos to show on your site. Sure it takes time, but if you provide quality content for your visitors, they will come back again and again.

    I ran an entertainment site with funny videos, jokes, etc. and all I can say is that by choosing the videos I wanted to display, my content was always better then the competitor using the script that pulls the vids for you. And in turn my site grew while the auto sites just didn't do much
