Hi folks,

I'm planning to post some Craigslist Ads.

What kind of offers works best and bring the most money for you?

Pay per Call ads with phone number? Or normal ads where people have to click your link?

Many thanks in advance

You're going to find that CL is the stomping ground of very well equipped and serious marketers that dominate, and passionately guard, those white pages; with only a handful of them being white hat, who wouldn't know a macro or a bot or a useragent or a proxy if one grew teeth and nibbled on their toes. If you're new to IM? Seriously: not the right playground. If you do want to give it a bash, just become a student of those pages. A lot of what you need to learn is right there, and you'll be learning a great deal more than people share on forums, trust me.

Edit: And if you do jump in, go white hat. Always the best policy, anywhere in IM.

Thanks for your answer Tom, but this was not my question!

I asked what kind of offers works best? Pay per call ads with number, or website-link ads?

      Thanks

        No problem, HeKKoR.

It's an impossible question to answer without knowing more, that's why I gave the above advice, buddy. Good advice, too; you'll learn what you need to know. If you see something sticking a lot on CL? Money in it.

Tom gave you a good answer and you snipe back at him...
PS. Do you really think someone who has spent a lot of money and time testing ads is just going to give it to you...

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Craigslist has different ad filters for each section (For Sale, Jobs, Housing, Services, Gigs, etc) which dictate the ideal ad format for that particular section. Overall, Craigslist has had an increasingly anti-link policy for flagging ads with links in them for the past few years.

The most obvious reason for that is links cause traffic leakage off their site which they want to prevent. Phone numbers are allowed in most sections but images may or may not be. You also need to be cognizant of the fact that they can now parse image content. That means you cannot "hide" links on images any longer. With all these points, obviously you may find isolated posts that do not comply with these guidelines. On a small scale. you can get away with a lot. It's when you want to craft a scale-able campaign across multiple cities that these unwritten posting and ad format rules come into play.

Pay per call offers work within CL - this way you can pass their spam trap of links.. since you can your phone number and get the ad live.

That's great that you're read to tackle Craigslist…which should be an uphill battle as it's pretty much a dinosaur now…

You may be able to get some results from it depending upon the area you're in, but there are definitely more time efficient, productive ways to advertise that will get you way better results!

Either way, be sure to keep us updated on your results and success!

I hope that helps and good luck!

There are some serious marketers who make a lot on Craigslist. However, just like any other form of marketing, there is a learning curve to go through.

People are selling all kinds of stuff there.

I think your question OP is not what can I sell on Craigslist but how can I learn how to become a 'proficient' marketer there?
