"Can We At Least Agree It's Possible?"

(From New Years Day)

What I get from this:

Our paths that led us here aren't all that different if you think about it. Yes, differing circumstances, but with the same goal. I've "dabbled" in marketing for the past 10 years or so without much thought about the how's and why's. It was never a means to an end for me, just a curious thing to do. For the past 10 years I've been a minority shareholder of a successful business. Constant paycheck, company truck, health insurance, bonuses, etc...

I handed my business partner my resignation last October. He agreed to buy me out and I agreed to stay through the end of the year (2015). It was a bit surreal stepping out of my comfort zone, a place that had been a second home since I was six. (Literally, I was 6 years old when my Dad picked up his application in 1972 & I was still working in the same building) Effective yesterday, the buck stops with me. Health insurance, company truck, a steady paycheck; gone by choice.

Now before you shout, "hey dummy, suck it up, it can't be that bad". Well, it can and it can't. In that position with a partner I've known for 25 plus years, my destiny, decisions, salary, working hours, dedication, and commitment; are all controlled by someone else. That someone else never earned my dedication and commitment, so I went through the "job" as comfortably numb. Simple as that.

I bought a course for 7 bucks last summer; doesn't matter which one. It was like I just swallowed the RED PILL. This life of mine as a minority stake in a 55 year old business was turned on its head. I thought I had life and happiness all figured out. Boy was I wrong. I was reminded, that indeed it's possible. Possible to live the life YOU want, possible to live the dream YOU want, possible to control YOUR outcome. I always thought that having a "job" as well as being VP was good enough. Its not if someone else is calling the shots.

Someone else dictates how much you make, someone else controls you, etc... you get what I'm saying?

I now putting the finishing touches on my first product. In September I began the work. I filmed the entire product; it was a weekend production, but it's "in the can" as they say. Oddly enough, I found it difficult to work on this project while at the same time being in the process of negotiations for a buyout. No room for focus while making such a life altering decision/deal.

The excitement felt for life right now is undeniable. New horizons for this kid! I have to say though, this is indeed the scariest thing I've ever done. I feel I've led a pretty exciting life, but this? Jumping out of a perfectly successful business to pursue my dreams? It feels a bit like jumping off the cliff of security... What if I fail? What if I'm not good enough? What if others don't accept my choices? What if I can't handle success? BS, its all in your head. Nobody else is going to make your choices for you, only you can do that. Like it or not, that's the way the world works. You have to take the bull by the horns and make it yourself.

My ultimate goal is to help others. Help them if they want it.
As Les Brown says, "Would you agree with me at the very least it's possible"? Oh you damn right I can; and so can you.

No alarm clock in 2016, but I'll sure as hell be putting in 15-hour days to make this dream a reality!

I've been lurking here for a few months now and it's great to watch the progress of others, even greater to see their successes! You've done a great thing.

Your life won't be remembered much for what you've done, but what you've done for others (I'm sure that's a quote from someone)
So what do I get from this? Everything.

That is a wonderful goal to have.

I have no idea what business model you're pursuing but if it's something that can really make a positive difference in other people's lives, then I'm rooting for you.

Of course, business can be a very fickle thing with all the ups and downs but in any case, you seem to already know that and it's clear that you work on your mindset.

And yes, I also agree that it's possible.

    Wishing you the best,
    Daniel

Only about 20%. Success is 80% mindset and only 20% mechanics yet 80% still believe that the economy and circumstances and events control their paths. Talk about polish and I'm half polish myself.

True but you also need an effective strategy to make things work.

I really think that if you want to get the ball rolling and succeeding fast as an internet marketer, you need a good mentor and you also need to invest money as you go along. Website, autoresponder, traffic, and then scale when you know what works for you. It takes effort and money to see success.

Thanks talfighel, The product is complete, autoresponder is setup, the website is almost done, building the JV page now, all legal is completed, artwork is done... just a few weeks until the first launch.

        Take care

Yes, it is possible, I will agree on that.

But here's the thing . . . goals, and mindset, and coming to the IM party are only a very small part of the money making puzzle. It's the easy part - it's the part that almost anyone can get right because the barriers to entry in this career are so very minimal.

A wonderful goal - wanting to help others -

. . . but not a very practical one if you have mouths to feed, a house payment, transportation needs, doctors to visit and children to educate.

You can help others by volunteering in the community and giving of your time without compensation. Boom! Your goal is met and you should be ultimately happy, right?

If you want to help others and be paid for doing so . . . that will take some special planning, a lot of effort over time, and some smart business execution.

Certainly it is possible - many have done it. But those that have are in a very small group of special entrepreneurs. Compared to the masses that have tried IM, they are a very small minority. And for many of them, it took years to figure out Internet profitability.

I wish you the best in your journey.

        Steve is being modest.

Actually.... goals, mindset, and coming to the IM party are a much smaller part of the money making puzzle.

I'm not sure if you were trying to be condescending or just come that way naturally. Of course I meant wanting to help others in their business endeavors if they want it, for a price. I walked away from a multi-million dollar corporation; I like to think I know a thing or two about people and business. Thanks for the best wishes.

They say that the average person dies by the age of 30.

They do go on living as an empty vessel because the average person has given up on their dreams.

Well it seems like you are deciding to go after your dreams right now. Good for you!

However, keep in mind that you still need an income to 'leverage' while you build your new online empire.

Yep this is true for many.

But for me at least I have found that many dreams I thought bypassed my when I was younger..i,e playing drums for a living, Climbing Mt.Everest have turned into other dreams ,no less satifying, that have come into play and ones I never would have considered Dreams before

I sooo can relate, just got out of my 17 years job as a civil servant last October. I just wanted more for my life then a cubicle with a 9 to 5 schedule for the next 2 decades.
Glad to see I am not solo in this journey.
    Cheer up

Hi Marline! I'm in the best place at 49 I could possibly imagine Back around New Year, I could feel the layers of that corporate VP stress slowly peeling away, revealing freedom. What a feeling!

Funny, the responsibility I feel now is incredible; I control my destiny, I control the outcome.

      All the best!

I have to tell you that there is no boundaries.

Everything is possible, to prediction learn from the past.

Turn back to the time that this plannet did not have airplane

If two men came to you and told you:" we would create something from iron and that could bring us

flying on sky". What would you answer? It is crazy or it is possible?

As i told you. I agree it's possible!

My Solution In Action: The 3 Steps
1.Honor yourself: Feel the power of being cut from the same universal cloth as everyone and everything. Choose to commit to being the best person that you can be, in every interaction. That includes creating your unique version of an extraordinary life.
    2.Make 3 lists:
What do you love most in life?
    What are your talents?
How can you serve the world?
Commit to figuring out where these lists intersect.
3.Be open: Start simple and every day, continue to ask yourself: How can I do what I love, in the best way possible, that will provide value to people? Follow your heart when you hear the answer!
