not necessarily in a timely manner.. they never did for me.. I also read elsewhere that as huge as that site it it's actually grossly understaffed... now I know why so many ads (undeservedly) get ghosted & flagged, over ticky tacky itty bitty crumbs, ..it's become painfully clear to me that cuz they're quick-on-the-draw really simply to shoot down a post rather than actually assess it because they don't have enough human eyeballs for that......

If you're trying to post a picture in the body of your craigslist ad, it use to be html code but I'm pretty sure that they've changed it not too long ago.....I would suggest that you hit Youtube for a video of how to do it!

I hope that helps and good luck!

CL doesn't offer any direct support and youtube videos simply show how to include an html tag which doesn't work.

      Hi Mike,

There are different ad filters for each Craigslist section (Jobs, Gigs, Services, For Sale, Housing, etc). Each of those ad filters impose their own rules for your ad format. For the past few years, the overall pattern has been for Craigslist to "discourage" ads which contain images. It started with them flagging ads with clickable images 4 years ago as that lead to traffic leakage off their site.

As of now, you can post images under certain Services sub-sections, most For Sale and Housing sections. If you are posting small scale, you can most likely get away with adding an image but that is not a scale-able strategy. Craigslist can also parse the content of images now. That means you cannot hide your links on them as you could in the past.

Regarding html formatting of ads, that will definitely increase the risk of flagging. Simple text ads are best. Spammer abused html, so Craigslist cast a wide net with flagging ads with html in their attempts to filter out spammers. Your best guide to understanding which specific ad format is acceptable in your respective Craigslist section is to simply scan most of the ads there. Try and glean the overall prevalent pattern of the ad format for most of those posts in that section. That will reveal the ideal ad format you should also be using.

      Hope that helps

They don't allow to add images in body area anymore.. But you can upload up to 24 images in your craigslist ad...

  • An interesting point to consider is that Craigslist has recently started parsing through the text images via OCR (Optical Character Recognition).

It's still rudimentary OCR but it is able to detect phone numbers in images, for example. Ultimately, you'll want to use simple text ads to promote your ads, instead of putting the bulk of the information in the image.
