An Important Step for IM Success: Reading Directions

Examining a PLR provider, I noticed a nice feature they had. They included a token in the articles whereby you could do a search for that token and replace it with your name as the author.

I don't know that it's absolutely necessary to do that, especially since it's not hard to do it yourself and, if you use WordPress, your author name will be showing anyway (depending on your theme). But, I thought it was a nice touch. With it, you could quickly and automatically replace it with your name or delete it altogether.

The PLR provider is quite clear in the instructions, even pointing out how easy it is.

The other nice thing about this PLR provider is they limit quantities too. So, you have the benefit of only a small number of people using the same articles you can and an added convenience to boot.

But, I decided to search Google for that token. And then you can see the number of people that don't read directions.

And, in checking out some of those sites, those aren't the only directions they likely ignored.

One site, for example, has 32 categories, including an "Uncategorized" category. Seriously? You have 31 categories and you still need an extra one for those that don't fit? At least, that's what it looks like at first glance.

19 categories have nothing. Well, 6 have nothing. The other 13 have a single post that tells how their website has a lot of information on the topic, but that's all there is! The Uncategorized category has "Hello World!" and is just the default post and category setup by WordPress that they didn't delete or change. The about page is also the WordPress default page.

The site does not appear to promote anything; it's only monetization appears to be AdSense, for which it has a single ad per page in the sidebar and not near the content at all.

So, they've spent money on PLR content, a domain name and hosting. They took the time to setup the site and add a bunch of categories and content. They clearly put some amount of time, money and effort into building the site. I'd bet they also bought some IM eBooks.

Anyone could overlook something, like that WordPress about page, but, in this particular example, they've "overlooked" so many things it just seems they weren't paying attention, that they were either looking for quick riches promised them or they just didn't pay attention to any directions they were given.

And, that's not the only site like that out there!

These could be created by people that will show up asking for advice to "make money online" because they've spent hours, weeks, months or years working on their websites but haven't made any money.

First, you've got to read the IM materials you buy. IM guides are not like stocks. You don't earn money from them just by owning them.

Next, you've got to follow directions and pay attention to what you're doing. You need to take action, yes, but counter-productive action isn't terribly dissimilar to no action at all.

There are no guarantees that you'll make money online, but doing things badly or poorly can almost guarantee that you won't.

    Hello,
every thing can be a work in progress.
I have found blatant mistakes by the biggest gurus that I just had to
send a email and point it out to them.
I have had many thank you emails in return just for that.
