Look at your passion, expertise and carry same to market online.
Get the right tools, study hard, pick a niche market, implement it,
have a long term plan, drop methods that did not work, apply more of
    what worked for you.

The first step to making money online is to BELIEVE you can make money online. After you believe it will cause you to take greater action. When you take greater action you will have greater results. You will then begin to make money online.

      I couldn't agree more!

      To add to it:

Commit to the process. 'I will until' (it is done)

Set achievable goals - for the week, the month, six months, one year, five years.

Finally - get real about it. Regardless of all the sales BS you will come across out there, real success online takes time, effort and skills. Expect, right now as you set out, that it may take you 3-5 years to learn the skills and make significant income.

Good luck. Stick with it, the results are worth it.

My advice to you would be to start as a bum marketer. Start submitting articles to sites where they have a "revenue sharing program." Sites like Bukisa, Triond and Squidoo.
This way you can start posting articles, market those articles and earn some side cash.

There are dozens of different ways to approach this from a dead start. It's as if you're asking, "OK, guys, I just turned 18, and I want to find a job. What do you suggest?"

Like, DUH! What kinds of skills do you have? What are your interests? What are you bringing to the table? Everything you DON'T have to learn will get you there that much faster.

Do you like to write? What are your favorite subjects -- things you know a lot about? Maybe a blog is a good idea. Maybe not.

You need to take stock and look around at what others are doing.

If you decide you want to work in a restaurant, for example, do you want a fast-food place or a high-end establishment? Maybe you hate the food service industry, but you go to a workshop and all they're talking about is how to make money in that industry.

You need to focus in a little more on something a bit more tangible.
