Hi warriors, I am trying to promote fat loss 4 idiots but I don't feel good with the sales page. The page is way too long for any one to read through. am I wrong? Is there a warrior here that promotes the product or that has promoted it in the past? If yes, what is the convertion like? Is there a good weight loss product with nice convertion that I can promote? It is easy for me to write articles in the weight loss niches but I am not sure which product to promote. |

Take this with a grain of salt, its just my uneducated guess but... I would imagine with over $21 million in sales that someone has tested their sales page quite well. I'm sure it converts. No one will read the entire thing unless it is something they are interested in. Buyers will usually read most or all of it.

I have made steady affiliate sales from "Cheat Your Way Thin" - Cheat Your Way Thin (not an affiliate link) In the Clickbank Marketplace: http://www.clickbank.com/marketplace.htm?category=-1&subcategory=-1&keywords="cheat+your+way+thin"&sortBy=popularity &billingType=ALL&language=ALL&maxResults=10&search Button=Go But Scott is right... 21 million in sales... fat loss 4 idiots must be doing something right... |

No, it is not like that. Even if no affiliates made any sales in the last two weeks the gravity will not be zero. MarkH: Could you give me an idea of your conversion with that product, if it's not gonna be a problem? |

Don't make the mistake of thinking that long sales pages don't work. Some do, some don't. It depends on the product in many cases. But mostly, it depends on how well it's written. If you couldn't make it through the sales page, that doesn't mean no one else can. Generally, I hate long sales pages. I'll read the first 10 paragraphs or so, then jump to the end to see the price which will tell me whether I want to bother reading the rest - because I will have an idea how much I'd expect to pay. If the cost is high, I won't read the rest unless it's something I really want or need. Many people skim sales pages - reading just the headlines and highlights. If the page has lots of those, that is great. Before you can make a valid judgment, however, you might want to promote it a bit longer and see if you get any conversions. That will give you a better idea, but from what I've heard, it is a good product that sells well. It's been around awhile. Sylvia |

..fat loss 4 idiots has been out there for quite awhile, probably saturated to a point....but money is obviously being made with it.. The sales page does look a little weird but its working and in the long run, that is the only real thing that matters....

Frankly, compared to other long copy sites, it's actually very short, infact some might say it breaks all the rules of traditional long copy. Don't worry about whether it converts, it does, suprisingly well. Frankly I thought the actual product was junk, normal "it's not your fault" drivel, but ultimately it sells very well. The trick now with that product and others in a hugely saturated niche is to look for other topics which target women of a certain age etc and cross market , trying to direct PPC , media buys etc for "fat loss" terms will be a bust. They even say so themselves, which is quite honest for a product trying to maximise sales. The guy behind it has done tens of millions in sales, I know one super affiliate did $220k + per annum for that guy and still never even got a personal thank you from him. Still no idea who he actually is behind that site to this day.

I've always wondered who the guy behind FLFI actually is. It seems kind of strange that people are so willing to buy it without having any clue about the author or his education/knowledge. Seems a little fishy to me. As far as other fitness products to promote, there are a bunch of really high quality ones out there that are not only good sellers but also top notch programs that do actually get results. I joined their affiliate program via cbproads, which is a custom storefront you can get for your site that lets you to promote up to 6000 different ebooks and related content via clickbank. However, my first affiliate sale came from betteru (forgot the site name).

I'm not sure how this whole Squidoo thing works. (Not a big fan of them.) But this is ranked on the front page and it says you can take it over? http://www.squidoo.com/fat-loss-4-idiots-review-diet Looks like anyone with a Squidoo account can take it over and replace their old aff links with yours. Easy money for whoever wants it. Not sure. ![]() Zach |

That Squidoo lense is on a "Squid-Don't" topic (it told me) so it won't let you take it. Too bad.

@ yourreviewer I think there's been a few threads about this. And I don't think there's been a name thrown out there. I'd assume it wouldn't be too hard to find out though with a little detective work. ![]() Zach |

Yeah. My guess for the reason it sells so well is that the visitor believes the site to actually be that of an article at first, and thus it lures them into a feeling of being 'helped', before landing the pitch which the visitor then subconsciously associates the product with being helped too. A classic example of giving content before a sale, however false it really is. Also, the 'sideways salesletter' (as i like to call it), is usually really effective on non-IM niches due to the short informational pages such as this 'fat loss 4 idiots' website. - James. |

I was wondering about this product as well. I think I'm going to start a campaign for it. 21mill, it's gotta convert. Plus there are just SOO MANY keywords with low competition for this niche It's unreal! |

Don't get me wrong, but a lot of it has to do with the name of the product itself. There's nothing people love more than something simple - "xxx for idiots/dummies". Just look at the success of the Dummies series of books

I'm very surprised it outsells the rest..I know it does though.. I never purchased this product but I heard its a diet generator. Nice concept, takes the guess work out of a diet, but I don't think it actually teaches you anything. Never purchased Gearys or Vinces stuff, but bet you'd learn a hell of alot more than fatloss4idiots. I'm in the process of putting together a membership site for weight loss, me thinks I can create something superior!

Seriously though, you can actually link to any of their pages instead of the main page. You can find the link codes for different landing pages on their affiliates page. Provided you do good preselling, the other landing pages will convert better than linking to the main page (lady holding the timer thingy).

FLFI is one of the hottest affiliate product in CB marketplace for a long time. The statistics itself proves that it has a very good sales page otherwise the sales wouldnot havebeen so huge.

The only true way to find out if it's worth promoting vs others is to do a split test. Set up a Google Adwords campaign...use a software like Affiliate Prophet (or Google website optimizer) which can help you split test multiple sales page in 1 go... Go with direct linking purely for speed of testing. Let it run for 7 days to gather data. By the end of it, you will get some data to tell you what is probably working better than the rest. Then take the winning product and do your thing! Jag

Don't just say 'I won't promote this product.. I don't think the sales page is good' It shouldn't matter whether you or me or anyone else feels the sales page isn't good. Always look at it's gravity and the track record it has. There are many examples of sales pages that don't meet the 'guru criteria' and are a bit unconventional, but have converted really well. I also thought that the sales page of FL4I was nothing special when I first saw it, but the gravity and the number of sales proves that it is a top performer, even though based on my marketing experience I didn't feel that the sales page is something special. And that's all it matter, how it perfroms, not what I think. I've had the same argument with an affiliate interested in promoting one of my products, which was telling me that he doesn't feel that the sales page is good. All it matters if how the customer feels, and how the product performs. The product I'm talking about, is one of the top 10 products in CB by gravity, it has over 300 gravity, I believe that is enough proof that it performs well. Bottom line is.. there are so many different niches, different types of products, different types of customer, It's not for us to decide or judge whether we think the sales page is good, and decide whether to promote it based on that decision,. Even if the sales page looks absolutely horrific, if it performs and sells well, that should be enough of a reason for us to promote that product. |

I usually just check out the numbers. If they add up for me, then who cares what the sales page looks like.

I jumped on the product a while ago and made some good money just cross testing it overnight. Literally over the next week the CPC went up 6 times dramatically decreasing my ROI so I moved on. I assume its still a very competitive niche by what you guys were saying.

I used to promote Fat Loss 4 Idiots quite a bit when I was still mostly promoting Clickbank products. I've since moved on to physical products rather than digital stuff, but I still make occasional sales as my pages for it are still up. My best conversions were about 1 1/2 years ago and then it was converting for me at about 1:40 hops. Nowadays it's probably about 1:50 or so, but it takes a lot longer for those 50 hops to accumulate because I'm not pushing it. Your mileage may vary on conversions as I know mine tend to be better than average, but I would say that it definitely converts better than any of the other weight loss products on Clickbank that have been mentioned in this thread. I've promoted both Geary's and Vince's and while I think both of them are actually better products, they never converted all that well for me on article marketing and search engine traffic. Probably because both of them actually require a commitment from the dieter. Also, I agree with others who have said you should link to one of the sub-pages. They are closer to the check-out page. |

Thanks guys. I guess I will have to promote the product. I did a research on the competition a while back and I think I have a very good chance of getting into the top 10 in google with some hard work.

This is an example of how different people have different results with the same products. I tried promoting this, and built a site for someone else promoting it, and it was the worse converting site I have ever promoted. I actually haven't had much luck with the weightloss niche in general, whereas I know others have had the opposite experience.. This is why I tell people not to fall in love with any one product (or niche) - that if they fail, they may have a totaly different result somewhere else. |
