Will promoting JVZoo products give you a bad name?

I'm slowly building a list and honestly I haven't pitched anything to anyone yet...Why? Because I feel obligated to promote "tried and true" products....Basically I'm afraid to pitch anything that I have personally not used for the sake of a dollar....

Which brings me to my question....will promoting JVZoo products give me a bad name? I've seen some really interesting products on JVZoo but I've also seen a lot of garbage...a lot of the "super hypey" (is that a word?) sales pages can come across as really cheesy to some people which would result in losing subscribers....

I know some of you are probably building your lists faster than you are losing. Some of you may not give this a second thought and just go where the money is....I guess I'm just having a bit of a problem justifying this.

What do you all think of this? I would love to hear your thoughts...

If you were to promote products you have made money from every time you would never get to promote products. It happend to me aswell, I felt guilty simply recommending products that I even knew would work.

Just be honest about it, what I like to do is atleast go through the product myself and if I think it can benefit my subscribers/followers I will promote it

Even if you are honest and all about about your marketing you will still lose subscribers, it happens to all of us. I know this is kind of obvious but you have to pitch in order to make money from email marketing

Hey Chantal, that depends on the product itself, not the network it's sold through.

Granted, JVZoo has a lot of crappy products being sold there but your subscribers will only care about the actual products you promote to them.

After all, I've bought more than one high quality product through JVZoo.

    Regards,
    Daniel

I wasn't trying to label JVZoo as a "bad network". However a ton of MMO products are sold on this platform.

Exactly my point...my subscribers will care about what I promote to them and a lot of the products being sold through JVZoo have flashy sales pages which come across as very aggressive to some people.

Hey Chantal, I should reiterate my point a bit.

"Granted, JVZoo has a lot of crappy products being sold there but your subscribers will ONLY care about the actual products you promote to them."

Also, bear in mind that most of your subscribers won't even know about JVZoo if they're not in the MMO space.

JVZoo isn't the most well-known network outside internet marketing circles.

In any case, just make sure the products you promote can actually help them (which I'm sure you've already selected as such) and your list won't bear you any ill will, I promise.

        Regards,
        Daniel

I have been doing this for about 14 or 15 years now and I have yet to come across a product selling platform that DOESN'T have crap products. So, there is that...

If you are marketing to MMO/IM prospects, and they get all tied up in knots about products with flashy / hyped up sales pages, then perhaps your list members are in the wrong line of work. In this niche, you will ALWAYS see hype. The key is to learn to separate the trash from the treasure.

As for trying products before you sell them - the attitude is right. But realistically, as stated by others, don't try to MAKE money with every product you are thinking of selling. You'll never have time to market to your list

Get it, read/watch it and determine if the product will be helpful to others. And be honest in your marketing. You can (and should) say you have not TRIED a product, but you indeed reviewed it and think it will be helpful to those who have an interest in whatever the product is about.

You will have subscribers who will leave for whatever reason(s). That's ok because this is how it works. Just be honest and have the best interest of your followers at heart and you will come out ahead.

I honestly see no problem here, Chantal. As others have said it should be based on the individual product.

Much like Warrior Plus, there is tons of garbage at JV Zoo there but there is also tons of fantastic products there.

          Absolutely no debating that

You can buy the product use it, if it not any good you can get a refund, if it good then promote it or you can ask the vendor for a review copy.

Once you establish yourself as an affiliate that can make sales, you won't have to buy the products. Simply contact the vendor and ask for a review copy. If you have at least 1000 sales or more, the vendor should gladly give you a review copy.

I have most of the top products being sold on JVZoo and Warrior Plus, and I don't think I've paid for a product in more than a year.

Even if you are a new affiliate it doesn't hurt to ask. Some vendors have no problem giving out review copies to affiliates. Most vendors will give an established affiliate a review copy. It's just good business.

Most vendors (the good ones, anyway) know that giving away one copy to a good affiliate they can produce many sales from that one affiliate for them.

One thing you need to remember...

    You are not your list.

And you can promote the most sterling product available but IF the buyer chooses NOT to put it into action....

    Well, the buyer owns that.

Not the person who alerted the buyer as to the availability.

depending on the niche, most leads (maybe 70%) are not sales ready. send content that helps them get closer to buying.

in most niches, its a general rule that email should add value instead of asking for it.

but if they are sales ready, go for the kill

JVZoo is a network not a product suite.

Like anything (Paypal, click bank, share a sale and JVZoo) there are offers that will suit your list. Find them, review them and decide what's right for your people.

You could even add value by providing your insights as a bonus.

Consistently promoting lousy offers will get you a bad name, no matter whether they're through JVZoo or not. And vice versa.

Check carefully before you promote and you can end up with a good name. Even if all are JVZoo.

Did you notice I'm not the only one saying that?

You can do what most people do and buy the jvzoo product before you promote it. That way you won't be selling things you feel uncomfortable about.

  • It sounds like I may have opened up a can of worms - I wasn't trying to target JVZoo as promoting garbage. I myself have bought products there and have even sold a couple through that platform.

I agree that perhaps buying a product before promoting it is the best way to go

I guess I'm just a little nervous about promoting to my list!
