Refunds, Chargebacks real headache to me!

Hi,

I am promoting some clickbank products and after long period, various strategies I am getting good results. One of product is converting good, but I am getting refunds, chargbacks more often. It is eating my commission significantly. What to do. It is converting but no use because of refunds. Please guide me.

Well, it probably converts well because it promises the moon, but when it doesn't deliver, people want a refund.

Also, I don't know how you're promoting, but if you're hyping it up more than the product deserves, that could be a factor as well.

      I agree DeadRooster.

@bhagwat68 - why not consider this: if the product you are selling is indeed promising a moon - create a product that delivers it. You anyway have the market for it. Sure would be hellava ride creating one, but you know for sure, there is market for your product and that it would sell.

In your presell messages, consider counterbalancing vendor hype with caveats, realistic product expectations, product pros and cons, ridicule, sarcasm, and even bypassing the sales pages altogether. By using these techniques, my conversions have soared, with negligible refund or chargeback rates.

Find a different product in the same niche and swap out your affiliate links.

If that still does not work try a different network other than clickbank

Refunds and chargebacks are a part of the game.

Consider promoting a different product if they deem 'too high' for your liking.

Unfortunately its apart of the game especially in the make money space.

I've had SUPER high value products in the make money space with 20% - 30% refund rate...

Clickbank stinks since the vendor doesn't control the refund.

Also if you're offering insane bonuses sometimes people just buy the product just to get the bonuses and then refund.

I would do that! If the bonus is high, and the refund policy is clear, why not? I

As an affiliate, you're somewhat limited, but.. :
    - Be more selective with offers. Buy it yourself if in doubt, ask if you would want a refund. You may still want to promote it, but come to expect refunds and keep a reserve in case. (To me this should go without saying if you're promoting/recommending a product).
    - Delay affiliate bonuses until after the refund period where possible / "secret bonus" after x days etc. They have to email you after purchase to confirm.

    20-30% is very high.

Classic case of a product that over-promises and under-delivers.

If this is a CB product on the MMO space, or one of those scammy 'become
a millionaire with our new Forex Bot' products, it makes perfect sense.

Have you actually gone through and purchased the product, seen the entire
      funnel and reviewed it yourself?

This alone will give you lots of insight into why the refunds are so high.

If you want to limit your chances of refunds/chargebacks stay out of those 2 niches.

Hot Tip: Promoting products with good gravity, that are on a Monthly Re-bill, with a High Re-Bill % + Rebill Total, and offer a $1 Trial can work very well!

    Sell a better product.

I sell an ebook that has less than a 1% refund rate. Customers rarely have complaints because I tell them exactly what they are getting before they buy.

Also, in some niches there will always be serial refunders, people who buy products just to get it for free after the refund. Not much you can do about that.

First of all it is really bad to heard about your situation. When you choose products in Clickbank than make sure you choose the product with high gravity. You can filter your result for it. This will help you to get quality products that have less refund rate.

      Thanks all for great support.

I got very useful suggestions from all of you. I will try to implement it.

I am promoting product in Health niche and it is quite popular. Its gravity is also very high and it is ranked very high in Clickbank. I have not bought it. Because of its high popularity and gravity it must be a good product, but unfortunately I am getting refunds and chagbacks. In fact while I am writing I have got $30 sell. I am praying that it will not bounce back as refund. As suggested by most of internet marketers here I will test other product.

      Thanks for great support.

How do you know the product is popular apart from the fact that loads of affiliates are raving about it?

There are CB products which have a high gravity that are bad products. It's just that they have marketed the product in a certain way which has catapulted it to selling well.

You are right. It may have sells page great, but product may be poor. Now I have decided to switch to other alternative product. Thanks for guiding.

Have you bought the product yourself? If not then maybe you should. Try it for yourself and if would want a refund, then you know the product is rubbish as so many Clickbank products are.
As someone else has said, it's probably hyped up and doesn't deliver.

Check the quality of your product. Seems like the marketing is good, and you should check out where the bulk of your customers' are buying from (in terms of Country). You should also get a tool called "EasyClickMate". I think this will help to put a handle on your refunds and chargebacks.
