Lets say I have a great article in eza

I have an article on ezine that has over 3000 views and 1500 click thrus.
Should I rewrite that article? Submit to other directories?
Sublit it to digixmas?

How can I optimize this sucessful article?

You can try, but my opinion would be to keep what you got and be happy with it. Congratulations on your successful article!

You could take the same keywords and write a different article. I certainly would not compromise your current one by sharing it around to other directories.
Sometimes it is near impossible to work out why a good article is so successful.
