Structure Of Opt-In Video for MAXIMUM Conversion?

Hey guys,

So I have had an opt in video for my DJ niche for the past few months. It converts well but I know that it is too focused on me and my 'cool dj life'.

I'm re-doing the opt-in video because I now realize that it should be more focused on them and my market and their frustrations however, I can't figure out what the structure of the video should be.

EX.

1) Acknowledge their frustration
2) Tell them I was there too
3) Tell them where I am now
4) Show them the solution
5) Show that it works
6) Explain details of FREE email course

etc.

How should I structure this video for maximum conversion?

Any advice is appreciated!

        Here is some more info:

        Currently my opt in video is:

        - Telling them and showing them how successful i am
        - Talking about my life (all of the benefits of being successful in my nich)
        -Talking about how I got to where I am now (industry secrets)
        - Telling them I am going to share the secrets with them in the newsletter
        - I go through what I'll send them.
        - I ask them to sign up.

        But I was watching an Eban Pagen Get Altitude video and it said "Don't make your landing pages about YOU, make them about your customer and their frustrations..."

        He recommends a structure like this:

        - Hi Im XXX
        - Breifly touch on how I used to be frustrated by X, Y & Z (same as main customers frustrations) when I started out
        - Quickly mention that I am not here to sell you anything...I'm here to help you.
        - Over the last 10 years of being an expert in my niche I have... (quickly mention things to build authority and credibility)
        - Through doing this I have learned secret techniques to help you get through X, Y & Z frustration quickly and easily.
        - Now I will share these secrets with you.
        - Simply submit your email address
        - Heres what you'll get when you submit your email address
        - Bennefits
        - Again, simply submit your email address

        Do you agree with what Eban is saying? He claims that if I talk about the customer and the frustrations they will connect more than the current video that just talks about how great my life is.... and that the conversion rate will skyrocket.

    Hi Sean,

    Whatever you do with your video, try not to make your video message too long...

    Remember the main purpose of an optin page is to get one to simply fillout your
    optin form so be brief and just give them a quick reason to optin then once they
    optin they will get to hear the rest of your message etc

    Just my opinion, hope it helps.

      Your post is common knowledge but it is sometimes common knowledge that we need to hear most. Its always good to have someone hammer home an important point like "keep it short"!

    When it comes to opt-in pages you need to use KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)

    Your video should be < 2 minutes, explain who you are, what you are offering, why the subscribers needs to know the info, and how they get the free info i.e. put your email in the box...

    As a DJ you could try a slideshow with background music and subtitles, but that's something that would need testing.
