As some may know I am only 17 which means I am still in High School. I have decided to take a class called Web Design. In the class I will be learning how to code html and xhtml. This is great being able to have someone guide me through this stuff as I know it can be hard to learn! This is great! Mike |

Never underestimate the power you hold being at school. Whilst i was at school I used to buy cans of coke in bulk and sell them individually because the school wouldn't stock them, I used to double my money. Think about it.. you are in an environment of very similar demographic to yourself with the power to network with hundreds/thousands. Supply/Demand, give the other students what they want and they will flock because of how viral school rumours are. |

If the class is slow or easy for you, don't be afraid to start reading ahead or start researching on your own too. I never took a class, but I learned how to write HTML in high school when I was bored. I also know other marketers who learned PHP at a similar age and now do very well for themselves. Glad you to see you are taking the initiative to go out there and discover more. Keep it up! Solomon Huey |

I quit school because of the pace and the lack of respect the teachers have for their students. I now teach myself. I now speak and write 4 languages including thai. Can write HTML and PHP. Physics and mathematics are one of my favorite subjects because you can study the depth that you want. Yes I know I wont have the papers to show all this. But I don't want to work for a boss, I am my own. Don't get me wrong I am not saying you should not go to school. Just wanted to mention that school does not work for everyone. Best of luck to you! like Naithan above, I realised in my final school year that I wanted to be a professional musician. I found a further education course that was perfect for this and i needed no qualifications to get in. I spent most of my final year skipping lessons to practise guitar and learn music. This helped me to get a head start for the course i was applying for. I breezed the audition, got on the course and studied hard for 3 years. I now earn a living from a combination of music and IM/Design, choose my own hours and couldn't be happier.
