According to statistics, there are now 1,663,770,448 people on the internet today and more and more are joining every day! For those who may have trouble with numbers, that is over 1.5 BILLION people.

Now, take a look at all those PLR products sitting on your computer. How many of those new people coming on the internet have read ANY of that PLR stuff you have sitting about? ZERO... ZIPPO... NADA... NONE!

I recently read a comment where someone said that a certain product had been out for a long time so the sales had to be slowing down. How could that be if there are 1.5 billion people on the internet and more coming all the time.

Think about this... there is always a new market for whatever you are selling. Even if you have sold your product to every 1.5 billion people on the net, there is a new, fresh batch coming down the pike every day!

I know this is a simplistic concept but the point I am trying to make is this: the money is out there waiting for you. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to make a good living online. You DO have to believe in yourself and take action. In fact, why in tarnation are your reading my post and not out there taking action on something. Sheesh!!!

Excellent post! Brings to mind a common marketing admonition:

"Stand in front of the traffic!"

    Thanks for the reminder.

Taking 1.5 billion people into consideration is a bit over the top since all of them don't have the purchasing power for online spending. You can take the online traffic from 4 major countries viz. US,UK,Canada and Australia (Since only this traffic is relevant for our model of selling downloadable products). Now their cumulative population is around 420 million. Moreover most of the new traffic coming online is from developed countries since the rate of growth in these countries is higher than that of developed ones. This traffic is not coming online to buy anything because online businesses still haven't established much faith/confidence among the "newbies of net".

The point you have made above-"there is always a new market for whatever you are selling"- is true however you have to improvise to decipher and then to reach out to these "new markets". For example the "newbie traffic" is not willing for online spending but will be more prone to getting free stuff, so think CPA. Moreover, you can also get nice clicks by doing some experiments with the language of your page.

The problem is that there are only 1 billion English speaking people in the world, and only 350 million of them have English as their native language. And of those 1 billion English speakers, every single one of them has seen your PLR before.

Okay, I'm kidding. But food for thought... maybe one way to wring out the value of some PLR is to translate it into another language and market it to the foreign market. Outsource the translation work, of course. Your best bet is Mandarin Chinese, which has 600 million native speakers.

Here's where I got my numbers:

I have been working soooo hard....

Buy yeah, new people are constanly coming to the internet...but it all comes down to what we know already...

Our offer has to be put in front of targeted people who are
hungry and ravenous for what we offer....

That is where our work lies...

Hey! I gotta get back to work!

    Chris,

this is especially true in the non IM niches. They don't know what PLR is. They have no idea that information could be rehashed to the extremes that we see.

We kind of have a third eye looking for similarities to our PLR whenever we pick up a new freebie.

Everything in the non IM niches are pretty much taken at face value and judged on whether or not they think something will work.

The other thing working in favor of using some of our PLR that has been set aside is this exact issue that you bring up. The fact that so many marketers have stopped using it means that if we bring it out again it is not all over the Internet giving the appearance of being even fresher

I agree with the original post. I've been told that Clickbank products have a certain "shelf life" and sales will normally die down (or completely fade out) after a period of time. But I don't see why this would be true. New people come online and discover my products every day! Why should any information product have a shelf life, unless you're selling something that is trying to cash in on a trend of the moment? The stuff I sell is timeless...

    Chris:

Thanks for that stat and reminder. I am always looking for new strategies myself (new TO ME is the keyword) so you are right when you say there's a heck of a lot of newbies out there that haven't heard of affiliate marketing, for example.

Books published in the 80's are still selling today so there's still life in the right info product.

I'll take your advice and get more campaigns up and optimized!

Much thanks for the "wake up" call.

Thanx Chris for reminding me how confused you are.......

In all seriousness, this part of your OP really stood out for me:

You don't have to reinvent the wheel to make a good living online. You DO have to believe in yourself and take action.

I'm living proof you don't have to reinvent the wheel to make a good living. Most of the niches I'm in are well-known and common (such as dating). I simply studied the competition, found their weaknesses, found out where they advertised / how they obtained traffic, then I created a plan, followed the plan, tested, tracked, and tweaked until I hit a profit, then I simply scaled it up and up and up..........

Most of the people use internet for free information.

They purchase only when you have any kind of relationship with them.

So you have to use these 1.5 billion for list building, establish relationship with them and then start selling.

Most of the people use internet for free information.
While this may be true, SOMEBODY is spending money. How much are they spending? According to a research company, it came to $259 BILLION in 2007. That was two years ago! So there is your proof that every single person on the internet is spending billions of dollars every year!

The fact is that every single person reading this thread can get a share of that $259 billion dollars. It is not rocket science and anyone can do it. Heck, let me give you a very simple formula that will make you money online.

They key to making money is finding a niche where they are spending money. That would be a niche where they are looking to solve a problem, want to cure something, looking for a partner, etc.

Once you have the niche, find an affiliate program in that niche.

Once you have the affiliate program, go to one of the lesser-known PPC search engines, create an account and place an ad. In most of those search engines, you can get good keywords for pennies.

For the link on your ad, just send the traffic straight to the sales page. You don't even have to have a sales page.

My business partners and I had an affiliate program with a very well-known company. We sent traffic directly to their website using PPC and we used a very popular keyword. We were paying $0.03/click and we were making thousands of dollars per month. We were making around 7 times what we were spending.

Let me head you off at the pass right now. I KNOW you are not building a list that way. I know there are a lot of other methods that can be used. I am giving you a very simple recipe because, let's face it, it DOES NOT have to be complicated to make money online. Some people just like to make it that way.

By the way, why are you back here reading this post again?

Chris - Making money online isn't rocket science. The big problems are distractions, lack of focus, lack of direction, lack of work ethic, chasing something that isn't there etc.

I see a lot of people making websites but then stop there. Either they have mindblock or get distracted. I used to hate PLR as I felt it was copycat stuff mainly, but I finally realized that PLR is helpful for people that run out of ideas and helps keep them motivated to get through the mindblock. Now for the ones that got distracted and didn't follow through with building traffic to their site, that's another story...
