What is your question? $10 isn't bad but you don't say how long the articles will be.

You pay what a writer charges or find a different writer.

Are you asking if $10 is a good price? If so, that's pretty cheap and I'd question the quality of his writing. Either that or he's seriously under-pricing his services. If you want good content that gets good results, be prepared to pay more than $10.

If it really is a good article and he's only asking for $10, make sure it's original content. Google isn't a big fan of duplicate content.

You can use Copyscape Plagiarism Checker - Duplicate Content Detection Software to check the authenticity.

If you're paying by article instead of by number of words, does that mean you'd pay $10 regardless of whether the article is 300 words or 700? Or did you decide on some minimum length the article has to be?

You did not mentioned here how many words is? Some people use 300 words, some use 500 words some use 700 words & some use 1000 words. You also mentioned here that the article is Original, here there is no plagiarism. So the rate is differ from one to another. Anyway if the Article is okay, he did not claim much. You can give him the amount. Thanks

A well-researched 2,000 word article is obviously going to cost more than a 500 word article. That's why many writers charge per word.

If the article is good you're getting a bargain at $10 so do your best to hold on to that writer.

They'll quickly discover their services are worth more money.

No offense intended, but it may be best to get a native English speaker to judge weather the articles are good or bad. I think it would be very difficult for a non-native speaker to make that judgment call.

For most of my content, I typically pay at least 3 cents per word.

A $10 article can certainly be original or unique but that doesn't mean it's high quality.

High quality content is really the only kind of content worth paying for, in my opinion, and it's probably not as cheap as most would like.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Have you had a look at PLR articles yet? There are lots of them in the health and fitness niche. They have a set price. You could buy some of those and modify them slightly which might be cheaper for you than paying the guy you know for each article. I agree with the above that most writers are charging per word. If you don't want to count by words, you can go 500 words for $5, 1000 words for $10, and just estimate it. Then you can ensure that you aren't paying $10 for two sentences. My only exceptions is if the author is known for writing very sellable content for websites or books. But it's really what you want to pay for. You could also try Fiverr.

If readability is poor, you may be getting spun articles which you shouldn't use for tier 1 sites. Better to spend some more and have a decent article written. However, for second tier sites spun content will usually do ok.

$10 is a good price if the dude got published on bodybuilding.com or some other top notch health / fitness niche online publications

Other than that, the value depends on WHERE you'll publish and WHAT FOR

What are you talking about? You asked about price - then about when to pay and you are getting answers all over the place...many of them make little sense.

$10 per article is a good price - but you don't say how long the articles would be or how many you are buying. My only advice would be to make sure to hire an English speaking writer if you are targeting the English market. Editing the articles is not something you should do.

Agree with the last comment. Get it right the first time to reduce churn. Write meaningful articles that inform your reader and help them with their problems or questions. Some blogs remind me of spam emails 10 years ago, we know what happened to those emails. They eventually sort of regulated sending emails, so eventually blogs could be regulated to avoid the amount of junk content out there.
