There's no "latest" traffic strategy and no secrets. social bookmarking, article marketing, blog comments, forum sigs. There. That will bring you some free traffic.

I asked a similar question here a while back and got a lot of good responses. I compiled a summary of the different suggestions and added it to the thread so you might do a search and see if you can find it. I also put it in an article on my CarolinaInvestor.com web site so you can find it there.

In addition to the suggestions there, I would look up the link wheel strategy. It is basically blogging with a twist. Of course if you have no content to link to then you will waste your time. Contrary to what some believe, real content takes time.

Can everyone just stop posting the same crap? Vaguely saying "twitter" or "forums" or putting your link in high ranking pages or whatever doesn't mean anything. If you have REAL strategies (step-by-step stuff), then please share and help the guy out. Other than that, just keep quiet. Please. There's no point giving him a million different directions that goes no where.

Adding a video a day targeting specific keywords will bring in traffic. I'm got 2 videos just for one niche and they bring me about 50 uniques a day combined. Not a lot, but I haven't scaled up either, so the potential is huge.

A lot of it will be the same old crap because you "need money to make money". I'm not saying you can't do it with the free methods, but you have to dig into it and do the free methods everyday, with no big "boom" to your website - it's a gradual growth.

If you want to get lots of traffic, you need to have a little money to grow the site. With that "seed money", you can help the site grow organically by adding social dynamics to it.

Getting decent website traffic takes a little time.Getting natural backlinks over time consistently is the way to go in IMO.
