Are Stumbleupon Ads Effective?

Hey Warriors,

I'm getting ready to test some stumbleads...I think they are going to be useful and if not, there's not much cost involved (5 cents an impression)...Has anyone tried and used these effectively?

What tips would you be willing to share?

I'd be careful about that. Maybe do a search to see what others say about it? How does it work? Do you pay a deposit?

Most people seem to say the same thing, not much luck with them.

Is it cost per impression? Not good from the start.

Cost per impression is way to high...

ven if you are getting a CTR of 1% (Very unikely)... you are spending 5 dollars per click... Can you afford that? Go for PPC instead.

I recommend you join the war room and get some golden nuggets on PPC which are present there... and then start PPC advetising. that has always been the best bet for me.

I found it to be an absolute waste of time and money when I tried it. The traffic literally didn't even stay past 1 second. I ended up with a lot of questions about their service after seeing this in my analytics and when it kept up for more than a few days I canceled the campaign.

I actually had more luck with StumbleUpon just using the stumble feature rather than the ads.

I use that to find new blogs and info. However, thumbing up your own content only gets you started. If you can get a mass of about 4-8 thumb up, it turns into a viral stream.

I guess where I wanted to go with this was seeing if I could get a viral stream going. I mean who cares if it's a low CTR if you aren't working for the traffic. Know what I mean?

The premise of StumbleAds is a great one at face value - but (at least in my experience) it just didn't deliver.

Brad - Hopefully your efforts with Stumble will work better than mine. I think it is largely dependent on the niche, but the jury is still out (imo). I had better luck with BlogAds than Stumble - but again, the niche is probably the key.

  I don't see why it doesn't work. As an avid stumbler, I thumb up a lot of content and I know some pages just get super viral traffic b/c of stumbleupon.
  
  Is the fact it doesn't work b/c it's Cost Per Impression? Or is it just the nature of the SU audience?
  
  Has anyone tested what niches did well?
