What are your best tips on how to get 100-200 visitors per day / niche just with free traffic (no adwords)

How long does it takes for you to achieve this amount when starting a new niche, what exactly do you do and what traffic methods have you found to be the most effective and easy to set up?

well you could always go SEO way.. if you do it right it is probably the steadies way.
you could go down the article marketing route. Once again this is very very steady traffic source. Easily outsourcable .
Or if you have an email list , that is extremely easy way of getting traffic.

You could buy adwords vouchers or get them for free and buy ppc traffic

I've had terrible luck getting visitors with social bookmarking and blog commenting considering the amount of time spent. Article marketing has been my best source so far of traffic.

I'd be interested to know of other people's tips.

Really not that challenging - but aside from getting 100-200 visitors each day, you will only be successful if those visitors convert (either into list sign-ups or customers). More traffic doesn't always mean more profit.

My top 3 sources of generating daily traffic are:

1. Content - a blog post and 1 article each day...been doing it for almost 8-years now. I couldn't turn off the massive amount of traffic I get to my sites even if I wanted to. The key, again, is to target your content to keyword phrases that are relevant and that convert.

2. Affiliates/JV's - there is no faster way to generate big traffic than to attract affiliates or co-market/exchange with other list owners. This can get you instantly 100-200 visitors and continues as long as they continue to promote.

3. Social networking and forums...participating, offering help and great content, targeting, teasing and bringing traffic into your sales funnel are the keys here.

There are many other techniques as well - but these are the top 3 for sure.

Not so good traffic? Everything else.

How long does it take from the time you set up your blog or website until you get the 100+ traffic a day?

I know a lit of people are doomsayers and naysayers on Craigs List but...

If you can put up an ad or two and get them to stick, you can get quite a bit of traffic almost immediately.

The hard part is making the ad appear as if you are giving away or selling a physical product.

Just get 10 articles up, do it properly and you get your 100 visitors / day!

I would say, in the order of both levels and quality of traffic provided, it's -

1) SEO
2) Article Marketing
3) Video Marketing

But all three are pretty great and you can outsource the boring parts! LOL

Start with SEO. It won't have immediate results, but it will be worthwhile over time.

Add fresh content to your site regularly. This keeps visitors and search engines happy.

Participate in relevant forums, blogs and social networking sites. Blog commenting is a good method for building quick traffic--if you target the right blogs--because many bloggers are eager for more traffic themselves, so they'll often come to your blog to comment if you comment on theirs.

Participation on different sites is the most time-consuming and, if you slack-off, traffic will drop off too. You can pace yourself, though, by heavily participating early on. Then, once search engines begin delivering traffic, you can reduce your participation on sites to a more manageable level.
