Google analytic question

So i have recently started a website 18 days ago and i was wondering if i can actually see where the people are clicking on my website.

Is it possible to do that with google analytic i no there are other programs that it is possible to do that with but what about google analytic.

    I don't use google analytic for this but I'm pretty sure there are instructions on google analytic to do this. I think you need to put the code in each one of your pages. As I said though I have never done that before so I'm not completely sure.

    Yes... paste the code into each page you want to track.
    It will show you how many page views each receives.

      In addition to Google Analytics there is also:

      Web Analytics by ClickTale | Visitor Movies, Heatmaps & Form Analytics

      They offer what you are looking for. They go a step further than Google Analytics. They provide the visual aides of what users are doing on your site... while Google Analytics provides the numerical data.

        I love this tool: StatCounter Free invisible Web tracker, Hit counter and Web stats

        Again you need to put the code into the pages you want to have stats for but it allows you to see so much data

        I find it much easier to interpret than analytics. I do have analytics but I hardly look at it now

          I also love the features of this tool. I'd like to know if you use the paid version or the free?

          It states in their site the following;
          "A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple piece of our code on your web page or blog and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time!"

          I want to know Misty, how reliable is the free version compared to the paid? If the free version is this reliable then there won't be any reason to get the paid. Or am i wrong???

              Click Tale records a mini video of your users actions, provides a heat map, etc. so you can really see exactly what user does on your site and how they interact with it.

            Hi livingcovers

            I have been using the free version for a year and I am quite happy with doing that at present. The reason of course for upgrading is so that you have more log space. The free version doesn't have anymore than 500 logs kept so if you want to have more logs to refer back to for analysis then you will need to upgrade.

              I never even considered that about adsense... and GA.

              My blog has always gotten low per click values. But my hub page and adsense on Qassia gets decent per click values.

    Well Google analytics is awesome. Just put their code into your pages (prefer down one so that it wont down your download speed) they have day wise details, they have details whether traffic coming from search engine or refrence or direct ... they have details of keywords search in search engine ... you can see geographic and that also city wise ...

    So this one is really great one ...

      They tell you to put the code immediately before the closed body tag </body>
      which in most cases is all the way at the bottom anyway.

      I also use and love GA, but I'm intrigued by Clicktales that jjpmarketing mentioned.

      Definitely gonna check that out

    Under the content menu on the left , you will see an option called "site overlay" - click on that , and it will give you where people have clicked and how often in a nice percentage format on each link.

      On the flipside, they could also use the data to set your payouts higher and CPC lower for Adwords if you're site is converting well for you and for their advertisers. The danger in sharing data between Google services is mostly contained to those that are trying to "game" the system. If you are doing things the right way (which you should be), then there should be no cause for alarm.

      That said, you have the option to turn off data sharing of your Google Analytics data with any other services including Adsense and Adwords. Obviously, from an outsider perspective there is no guarantee that Google would not still use this data anyways, but keep in mind that their core mantra is "Do NO Evil".
