Hotel review writing business - how to make this sound appealing?

I have emails of 10,000+ of hotels. I have been receiving a trickle of return on translating their current real reviews to other languages. I think the hotels don't understand my proposal. Some have paid me but not as many as I would like. Do you think writing fake positive reviews would work better? Thank you.

From your post I have no idea what your proposal is. So how do you expect them to?

Fake positive reviews? That is a big NO-NO! Start with honesty and you'll win more often than if you cheat.

Fake positive review is really not advisable.

It's better to get a few number and some not so good comments but you know is true than doing fake ones.

    Just have more patience.

I agree with post #2 - where did you get 10k emails - what are doing with them - what are hotels paying you FOR - and what is it you want them to buy from you.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Forget what the naysayers are saying here. The reality is, hotels want positive reviews to push down the negative reviews and fresh content all the time. There is a lot of value to the hotels to have someone constantly adding new reviews.

I have researched the market on sites like Fivver and it seems there's already people doing it on a per review price basis. I would start low, offering a package. $50 for 10-20 reviews or $100 for a few reviews every month.

Some hotels don't need you but some will definitely reply and pay you! Good luck.

If you scraped 10k emails for hotels, and now you're emailing them a template email offering translations, I'm not surprised you're having trouble.

Now if you emailed a hotel owner in, say, Florida with an email that said X thousand people from Germany vacation in Florida every year, and they look at sites like [example.com] for reviews, and that as an intro to your services they could get 5 reviews translated into German and posted on [example.com] for $yy, you might have a chance.

As for Buffy's assertion that it's okay to write fake reviews because some people buy them, be careful. Review sites are getting tougher on fake reviews, and getting caught could get your client bounced from the review site altogether. And unless you are a much better writer than indicated in your opening post, your phony reviews will be easy to spot.

I am a forum newbie and as such do not know whether we can openly discuss this topic but fake reviews are more common than you think. It is a big market and yes, people hire people for all kinds of things they don't want to do themselves.

The way around the spotlight is to post already approved reviews and simply change a few details as it pertains to the hotel or restaurant. The algorithm and auto flagging are largely avoided as these are reviews already published long ago. I'm doing good business with this service now. The pie is large enough that anyone can get clients too.

Does that mean it's OK to sell fake reviews? Because it's "common"? "It's done on Fiverr" is not a glowing testimonial...

I don't know if you can "openly discuss" selling fake reviews now or not. Used to be against the rules here to promote a method that violated terms of service or ethical business practices.

I appreciate your opinion but in the real world (where your opinion means nothing), the hotels and restaurants are paying me for heaps of fake reviews. I will not turn away their $$$ for very easy work.

If you're already getting "heaps of money" writing scam reviews, why did you even bother with your original question?

Got another name for my "never buy from" list...two if you count Ms. Geller.

Translating reviews to another language is a good idea but just do what your clients wants you to do. Don't ever write fake reviews, users/visitors will know.

Here in the "real world" AKA The United States of America it is against the law to use "fake" reviews. "Endorsements" must be clearly labeled as such.

Well, we know you're a liar. I guess some people see that as a viable income producing quality.

I focus on small and medium sized hotels and restaurants, although it does not need to end there. They all need fresh and new reviews more often so they hire me rather than write the reviews themselves. The effect is that the hotels now rank higher on google [fact] and fresh reviews look good. The reviews are tailor made and/or copied from other hotels/restos where the same text was already approved by mods so my version is published.

I let the client decide the frequency of my reviews and any other instruction. My rates are very low. My focus is repeat business and volume, l live in south east Asia so don't need much money to have a great life. Living the dream.
