Making something worthwhile?

I've been into IM for roughly 3 years and I've made maybe $150 in that time. Why? Because my attempts were flimsy at best. I also had little to no interest in my niches. If I were to be completely honest with myself I would say they were beautiful garbage, well designed with well written content that offered very little value to anyone and were simply meager attempts to gain clicks/sales. I want to build something with substance.

Are there any legitimate courses out there? I'm looking for something that will show me how to take my interests and abilities and use them to create a sustainable and legitimate business. What I am NOT looking for is the newest get rich quick scheme as I've tried those and they just don't work.

Thank you for any help provided. I am so tired so spinning my wheels.

There are tons of courses "out there" , it is just a matter of locating the one(s) that suit you and what you are looking for in your IM business. I would suggest seeing what members here are doing and look into the most sucessful.

Hi, what is your passion? Probably you have heard that before but it looks like you did not act on it. What do you like doing in your free time? What would you do for free? Do you have anything in your life you are passionate about? If yes, that is great, use that as your new niche. If not, choose a niche you are at least interested in. What kind of business do you want to build? Do you want to do affiliate marketing? Or have your own products? Digital products or physical products? Do you want to do white label or dropshipping? There are so many different avenues you can take in IM. The most difficult thing is to make a choice and then stick to it. Develop your strategy and keep learning and you will achieve your goals. There are plenty of great courses out there. There are even plenty of free courses and valuable information on the Internet. But you have to invest some time in research. All the best, Christina

There are tons of ways out there....

I choose Kindle publishing when I got started. You can build a huge list quickly, build a back end, do affiliate marketing, and you can make money quickly and easily.

    What are you interested in?

    At least you're honest.

Lots of people build something of little value and just decide "this whole marketing thing is a scam" or some other cop-out.

I did the same thing for many years and ended up just spinning my wheels. You're on the right path by realizing the value of, well, value.

Courses are hit or miss (almost all of them are misses).

Try the reverse engineering approach. Make a list of your favorite blogs / sites. Which ones have given you value? Which ones do you know for a fact that others find valuable?

Homework time. Grab a sheet of paper (or Notepad). What are 5+ things about their content that you feel makes it more valuable than other content in their industry? 5+ things about their formatting that provides a great user experience?

What kind of questions do they answer? Get on Open Site Explorer (use a free Moz account) and look at their Top Pages. What content has been shared the most? What demographic of reader do you feel that shared content most appeals to?

Roll up your sleeves and do this to several blogs. I guarantee you'll learn more about creating value than any BS course will teach you.

It may feel like most of these answers are common sense. They aren't. This is how you reverse engineer the roadmap that these sites used to create value and grow in size as a result.

Now figure out how you can apply what you've learned to your own efforts.

edit: I did exactly this a while back and came up a strategy based on my findings. I would share the post I wrote, but I don't want to risk link spamming. Don't know how lenient WF is with such self-promotion.

Combine what you enjoy doing with what is useful or entertaining to others. And just do it.

Show others what you do (e.g. write posts in your blog or on your website)

When people see that you can be useful to them, they will listen to you and follow you, they will buy the things you recommend and will recommend you to their friends.

It takes some time to earn authority and trust and to attract and retain your audience. That's the way.

It's important to create content for a niche you like and are passionate about. Even if your passion doesn't cover a very large niche, there will be people who share your passion and will want to know more.

After 3 Weeks or 3 Months I would have made some major adjustments.

3 years is painful to hear but it happens all the time unfortunately.

Try Affilorama. Its Free to join. If you like the training they also have an affiliate program so you would already have your niche. Just an option.

I recommend it because you would be learning to become good at promoting products without creating them which saves you time and effort.

Later you will settle down into something in your comfort zone but get the training to create some income streams soon as possible.
