Finding clients for a mobile app development company?
Mods can move this post if there's a more appropriate sub-forum.
I have a background in sales/business development selling IT software and ecommerce platforms. I'm currently looking for a job, and I found a local mobile app development company that I'd like to work for in a business development capacity. Their clients are mainly SMB. I'm accustomed to looking for specific people's titles through sites like linkedin and data.com and then finding their companies and contacting them that way.
I've put in my application for the position and I expect a callback this week. In the meantime, I'd like to set myself apart from the competition by doing a little pre-interview project where I locate some potential clients interested in learning more. My plan would be to let them know that I have a few prospects lined up and make some introductions.
My challenge is that I'm not entirely sure how to find prospects/clients looking for mobile app development. Should I just open the phonebook, find random companies and call their marketing departments? Can anyone point me to a good resource or strategy for generating leads and finding clients? Thanks.
Steve
