Online Marketing isn't just Lucrative

...it's also fun and stimulating.

Let me know why you find online marketing so much fun.

If you're not having fun yet, you need to find the right reasons and burn them in your brain cells. For example I'm addicted to PPC bidding wars, ad tracking and creative advertising. Actually I'm an irrecoverable addict.

Hi, my name is Alexandra and I'm a Facebook addict.

Jokes aside, I never thought I'd say this (I was anti-Facebook and didn't even get a personal account until working for Rob) but I have a lot of fun creating posts and figuring out which ones are the best received, why, when, what works. I've said this a couple of times before but as online marketers we tend to forget at times that behind all the conversions and numbers there are real people whom we touch each day through our ads, emails, posts.

So what I love right now is figuring out what people like, what triggers them to react and what will eventually make both of us happy.

There's so much data to compile and so many things we can improve every step of the marketing process. I just love that.

    Yeah...great post, Andrew!

Well yes, in the end, that's what's all this about: enjoying and making things happen

Good stuff Robert, freedom is everything. You're free to worship and reap joy out of thin air. Okay, I'll zip it and read the rest the responses, I'm all ears. Remember, success is in the details.

When you are starting out and are not seeing any results, this internet thing is not fun at all and can be frustrating.

If you just don't quit, you will find a way to succeed.

Once you do, things will become more fun.

    Knowledge is POWERFUL.

I like it because it's a money pit. You can sell whatever you want, automate it, and chill at home all day. No boss or waking up super early in the morning to put your dirty work clothes on. I have no particular "emotion" for online marketing. I prefer doing business online in front of a computer where i can sit down... rather than walking around like a goon approaching and talking to people all day about my products.

It should absolutely be fun. People are more creative, positive, and goal driven when they're having fun.

It can be hard to still have fun after 10 hours of slaving away working on a launch data that's just around the corner. But most of the time I have an absolute blast working on my blogs, even during super long days.

Fun is important as long as you're still working hard.

One of the most powerful things you can do for your own productivity is to enjoy something about what you do. It doesn't have to be everything, but if even a piece of it drives you, you could focus on that aspect to power through your day and possibly delegate the rest one day as you grow.

Oh no, I have a feeling this thread might start a new industry; IM rehab programs

Anyway, IM is like a roller coaster most of the time... high highs, low lows. I guess it won't hurt having a brain that's sensitive to addiction and thrills. A desire for a steady and stable way of life, is anything but useful.

I think it's a blast because, to me, it's like solving a puzzle. There's so much that goes into creating a sales message and, when it hooks, it feels awesome!

I'm an in-house marketing guy for one company but I do freelance copy work here and there, and I'm always fascinated by people's stories. I love turning someone's personal triumph into a sales message.
