OK folks, let's brainstorm and make a list. Which conference call services do you prefer? Recently I have been on several calls that really stood out, but not in a good way. One company (and I'm not sure which one it is) has you dial in, enter the code, and then you hear a voice say, "At the tone, please announce yourself." So you, as the newest caller to join the conversation, hear a loud ping, and then you either say your name or you're so embarrassed for being late to the call that you stay quiet. What ends up happening is the people who were already on the call also here the loud ping, and then a voice saying its name. The really irritating part about this company, the ping, and the names being announced, is the call can be going and the speaker is speaking, but you keep hearing pings and names because people will always show up late. So I would like to avoid one of the companies with the pings. Or at least find one that lets you turn this feature off. Any idea which companies do or do not have this feature? Thanks, Jill |

Jillian, I don't like the new caller ping either. I've used freeconferencecalling.com with good results. They have an option to disable the new caller ping.
