Simplifying marketing like this controversial person is doing....

Love him or hate him, you have to admit...

Donald Trump is a master marketer!

Inc.com wrote a very fascinating article about his key selling points - They include:

  • Awareness is key
  • Authenticity gets praise
  • Simplicity sells

Think about that 3rd point.

Simplicity sells.

This is why dinky little 10 page PDFs are so popular these days...

They describe:

1 problem

and then spell out

1 solution

Brief, pithy and to the point.

So when you're thinking about making money online fast...

... sell your buyers what they WANT

and deliver to them what they NEED.

It's human nature, really.....

Folks act far more when prodded by emotions than by cold hard facts.

Your takeaway?

Look at your current online endeavors.

Look to how you can *simplify* them.

Get them down to the bare bones basic building blocks....

... and then go from there.

    Good point about being Pithy
One key factor is the use of INFOGRAPHICS or explanatory diagrams in those short reports
They highlight the VALUE the reader is getting.
Also, since we're on the topic of The Donald, make sure the TITLE of the report grabs eyeballs.
There's always a way to play up EMOTIONAL hot buttons even in the most 'boring' of niches
Trump outlined his media strategy in the ART OF THE DEAL.

This reminds me of what email copywriter Ben Settle was recently saying about Trump...

He said that Trump knows how to whip his followers up into a frenzy and his "haters" just bring him more publicity.

In addition to that, way back in 2011, exactly 5 years ago (April 19th), Ben sent out an email to his list and also slapped it on his personal blog: Clueless Donald Trump Haters

    Ben said the following:

Personally, I don’t care either way if he runs. But there is something happening with his talk about him maybe running for president that I’ve noticed. And that is people who hate him keep mindlessly prattling on about how his business has gone bankrupt multiple times.

    They got no clue whatsoever.

    It’s actually kind of funny.

Because you see, nobody who succeeds on that level does it without lots and lots and lots of big, fat, embarrassing failures.

    Could be personal failures.

    Could be professional failures.

But either way, they will fail (probably several times).

    And you know what?

It’s the same with you and me.

You think you’re gonna make it big without the cold bite of failure sinking its teeth into your arse?

    Right.

    Good luck with that.

Failure is a big part of winning at anything — sports, business, whatever it is you do.

    Fail hard and fail BIG.

That’ll make it all happen quicker.

    - Ben Settle

The point is, like him or not, there are important business and marketing lessons to be learned from "The Donald".

Thanks for bringing this up, Barb.

I feel too many marketers don't notice these little things that are really valuable lessons they can profit from.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Yep Ben really embraces that about Trump and uses it himself.

Over the years he has been notorious for turning hate mail into fodder for his own emails. It's a great strategy and I use it myself on occasion
