When do you know it's time to quit pushing a product?

Hey Warriors,

When do you know it's time to stop "pushing" for a product to gain traction and just move on to the next one?

Not bitching, just a very pragmatic question.

Here's a brief summary of my product (a niche with over 1 million searches/month on Google, namely acne):

- launched it in October on Clickbank, VSL sales page; did a PPC campaign on BING, 0% conversion, about 700 clicks, I guess;
- no affiliate interest;
- redesigned the site,product completely (professional marketer/designer);
- rewrote the copy, redone the VSL (both time with highly paid professional copywriters); did another campaign on BING - 1,5% conversion, but it took like 3 weeks to get to 500 clicks; in that time, I sold 7-8 copies.
- messaged a few affiliates (CB will let you message each one once, without real name/email info), none responded, no affiliate sales; Google research proves worthless for their nicknames.
- tried finding affiliates for my niche here, LinkedIn, etc; nothing.
- tried revcontent.com, got denied because my site doesn't have enough traffic, I guess.
- retargeted the product entirely for the demographic group that was responsible for 100% of the total sales (all 8 copies ) -namely women, 20-34 yo, tier 1; the retargeting implied a new partner/coach, copy rewriting, sales page redesign;
- started a new BING campaign, got like 80 clicks in 5-6 days, no sales;
- also tried a banner on buysellsads, over 10 k impressions, zero clicks (both BING and banner ads done with professionals).

So coming back to my original question, when does one know it's time to move on?

Thank you good people!

    When is it the time to say 'when'?
    Personally, when I've thrown different types of traffic at a landing page AND
    I have changed the landing page using an element by element approach
    If that still doesn't work, I'd think HARD about throwing in the towel...

    You might want to come up with some incentives and try and attract some affiliates. then try posting in the "warrior joint ventures" section, as well as running some solo ads. If it is good product then marketers will be interested.

    Here is a list of some joint venture sites you could try Joint Venture Sites

    Willie Crawford is pretty big when it comes to joint ventures. I am not sure if he gets involved in niches other than MMO but look him up.

    It can hurt to let something go, especially a product that you've tried so hard to work on. Have you considered running a mailer for the product? You might find that the demo responds to a mailer better than an ad. If it's no trouble, I'd love to see examples of the ads and your sales message. If anything you could at least get opinions from a bunch of different writers/marketers on where it might be falling flat.
