Why many internet marketing gurus never share their marketing secrets with anyone!

There are a lot of very successful marketers out there that pretty much get a ton of traffic each day to build their list (Unique and high quality traffic). Sometimes these people get 50-100-200-500+ leads per day but no one knows where they market and how they get so many sales and profits each day.

You even see them on leaderboards and they are crushing it.

The first thing they do is they test all sorts of places to see which ones get them the best results and which ones don't. Once they know what works, they scale.

But then, they never share with others and here's why:

If they do, they will create MORE COMPETITION for themselves which is a BAD thing. If you market somewhere online and you are getting good results, it will not be smart to share with others.

Buy traffic, test it out on a very small scale, and if you are not getting results with it, don't use it anymore. Make sure you write it down so you keep it for future reference. Same thing with traffic that does convert.

I guess it may go back to that saying a Magician doesn't share everyone of his tricks.

Could be applied to some of the so called goooroooos.

But I have run into some gooorooos who do actually give away waaay more than I thought they would or should.
    It does happen

New marketers also need to realize that their offer or marketing message is going to be different than that of another marketer. Your conversion rate is not going to be theirs. Here's why:
    • They may have name recognition
    • They may have a long history of great offers (reputation)
    • They will have timed their message differently (maybe you're too late)
    • They may be able to get clicks at 1/4 the rate you pay
    • They may be great at copywriting while you may not be
    • They probably have lots of people following their every word
    • They probably support their own offer (which you never hear about) like to their subscribers, on their blog, in their emails
The point is, even if you knew where and what they were doing, you probably can't duplicate their success.

People who post threads saying something like . . .

"What are your top traffic sources?" . . . or . . . "Where are the best places to post my latest offer?" . . . don't realize the foolishness of their request.

What works for one person is almost never going to work the same way for someone else when it comes to marketing online.

    Do you know Russel Brunson?
Just do some "hacking" on your favorite marketers, and you will know exactly everything about them.

I suggest you see his "Funnel Hacking" event. Some great information in there.

Not really true... there are various spy tools that you can pretty much figure out what they are doing (maybe not in the IM space specifically - I'm out of the IM niche).

What Runs Where, Social Ad Ninja are the two that I use.

The other issue with this statement is that, like weight loss, people KNOW what to do, they just won't do it. Those marketers who are getting massive amounts of leads/sales a day are PAYING for traffic. They aren't working on all these free methods or even SEO (in many cases) that the WF is so in love with.

Best advice I've seen in a long time. Just because you think you can swipe their ads and do what they are doing, it doesn't mean it will work for you at all.

Russel Brunson's "Funnel Hacking" is a joke. He's a brilliant internet marketer who realizes that his market (the IM/MMO space) just wants something spoon fed to them. So the idea of 'hacking' other funnels and just copying/swiping their content/landing pages/funnel structure sounds just 'easy' and 'smart' to do, but in all reality it makes absolutely no sense to do (in most cases). However, it appeals to the 4-Hour Work Week newbie who thinks you can build a six figure business working from home part time while you sleep with no budget and no knowledge about the market ever.

In my market, which is Men's Performance, Dating & Health, there are guys who can spend 2-3x as much as we do to acquire a customer. There are guys out there who can't spend 10% of what we spend to acquire a customer. Just 'hacking' a funnel is a huge risk and copying other marketers never generally work.

    This.

In any case, the best way to figure out what works for you is to try different methods yourself and see what works.

Sometimes you'll be surprised at what traffic sources work for a particular offer; a good example of this is promoting survivalist offers on Republican political sites (it converts well).

Even so, there are some exceptions. Even if you are the best NBA player in the world and you share your training, strategy and everything, most people will not be able to do the same.

These gurus can share with you how they do it but if you are not good enough you will not be doing the same results and you will not be a competitor either.

Yes but only in certain Context. When it comes to Traffic I would say yes. But I know with things like Email Copy I gladly share some of my techniques that I have developed and sharing with others in this circumstance is not a bad thing at all (actually it only helps as it only increases your Authority in their eyes) They have already gained these prospects through their own traffic techniques.

when I start IM and in here , brought some WSO ..also review some WR WSO.

some does share " a bit " of their tricks and tactics ...some don't

    so is " subjective "

but the most successful ones i feel..they do share their secrets BUT only 90 percent of it.
10 percent they keep to themselves.

well this is hard truth....why they keep 10 percent for themselves simple because if every one knows that..will " re sell it " or yes they will encounter drop in their sales...

this is how I feel...no offence to those successful iM

No doubt if they share their knowledge competition will increase. And no body wants to compete. Yes competition is good because when you compete it makes you better, you become better person in life or market.

Further there is mentality behind this when we get something for free that is valuable or something that will change our life, we start doubting in it. Here our typical mind or skeptical mind start working why he is offering this information with us for free? There may be something behind this? Might be a trap? But in reality this is not the case. He or she really wants to help but you know what I mean.

In other case, what happen when we get some free valuable information, we hardly pay attention to it, may be sometimes we pay attention or some times not.

Mean to say this is our psychology or mentality that when we get anything for free we pay less attention, we don't take action towards the information, tips or strategy. Somewhere we are lazy to take action.

Note: Here I am talking about only about me don't take offensive. I was having this mentality, and was doing the same thing as I said above but I am improving day by day.

On the other hand, when we have to pay for the same valuable information. Surprisingly we start paying attention curiously and yes we take action too. So it is our other mentality. Our free mind shift to paying mindset and starts working and thinking that I have to pay attention towards information or listen to them because I have paid for that.

It is a fact that 90% information out there are totally free. No need to pay for that but nobody cares and only 10% information that all big gurus, marketers have with them.

And that 10% knowledge is there experience and practical knowledge that they have gained by implementing and taking action and of course by failing again and again and willingness of learning and investing into them.

So finally if they share something for free we must take it as a golden nugget and take action and pay attention and if they don't share, don't blame them, it is there own style of doing the business. On the other hand, if somebody is sharing for free, it is there own style of doing business. Both are business tactics and driven to money

It's also important to realize that there is no magic bullet to success. It takes tedious amounts of hard work *gasp*, ingenuity, and the vast amount of info will be learned from DOING and will not come from a product.

There are marketers out there with things to share, but it's unlikely that anyone in here will become wealthy from a single e-book they purchased for $49.

    this is my thoughts..

Basically i noticed IM sales are earn from fellow marketers..

    yes money go a round...

in fact I happen to noticed ...Most money are made from fellow IM..just a bit from newbies...

Even I sometimes Will buy fellow IM stuffs to see and explore around it..since we roughly know some guides etc..

for newbies is like they hesitant to buy ..surely they will feel IM is " scam " etc no doubt Some IM claim their sales mostly from newbie but very rare....

Well, real things have their price! I'm sharing my ways of doing things but of course it comes with a price. I also give away lots of useful things for free. It's just the way it should be: If someone has made an effort and spent lots of hours developing very concrete methods that make him money, then it's understandable that it's not easy and let's say not fair to give that away just like that.

I don't have a problem with people holding some very valuable things back that they worked very hard to get, but I don't like it when so many people here are giving false claims and outright lies and make newbies go down the wrong path for years to come.

I know many people here who were sidetracked by very attractive but misleading advice and claims and they spent 2-3 years or more wasting their money and time and family life. Don't do that! Nobody has to reveal his secrets but please don't mislead and launch WSOs with all those promises that have nothing to do with truth.

If you know something that people can use, teach them, give them what they are really looking for. They will pay you if you're honest and tell the truth. No need to post insane photos of income and things like that. Be fair, give people what they need and make money that way.

There is no deep, dark secret.

    1. Do the basic steps I've seen over and over on this platform. (Product, website, traffic, etc.)

    2. Apply w-o-r-k.

    3. Treat it like a regular job. (Show up every day, don't goof off, don't treat it like a hobby.)

    4. Don't bounce around from thing to thing.

There IS no magic button to share. You can get a mentor to give advice for your personal business, but there isn't any magic fairy dust you can find.

edited to add: I know the OP mentioned marketing, specifically, but there simply isn't a magic marketing button. Or any other magic button.

There are secrets, and then there are secrets.

I'll gladly share my "secret" fishing lure, along with the best tackle and when and where to use it.

You won't get the coordinates for my "secret" fishing spots.

And you have to be careful when "hacking" what others are doing.

When I was growing up, my folks had a cabin on a lake. It was close enough to town that it got lots of boats on weekends. It was common for a lot of those weekender anglers to scan the other boats, and when anyone caught a fish, they'd all zoom over and try to horn in on the spot.

My brother and I had a trick we'd pull out when the spot jumpers got too annoying.

We'd go out to the deepest part of the lake, tie a glass soda bottle to the end of a line and drop it overboard. Then we'd make a big fuss about fighting and landing this whopper. Sure enough, here came the spot jumpers. We'd then quietly drift back into productive waters and resume catching fish.

I'm thinking that some of the gooroos are doing the same thing to the "funnel hackers"...

    No.

As Radall alluded, there are no real marketing "secrets" at all. Gurus use this terminology as a marketing gimmick or fishing lure to sell their products to starry-eyed and lazy people, who continually fall for it - hook, line, and sinker.

There are some websites online that you can buy traffic from and get good results. You will be amazed to hear that very few people ever heard of these websites before.

Plus, some people have deep pockets and test a lot of places to see which one work and which ones don't. A lot of people don't have the patience or the balls to test.

Gurus who feel insecure about their future will not share a word as they are afraid of competition. However, there are others willing to share their experience. If you just google "marketing guru blog", you'll get plenty of popular and get-at-able names to learn from. So, perhaps it's no point in discussing why gurus don't share their knowledge if, in fact, there are many who do.

Of course, if someone expects to do nothing and get 100% working tips delivered to their doors, they might be waiting for ages.

If everyone knew their "Secrets" first of all they wouldn't be secrets anymore, and secondly money is never an easy thing to acquire. People will often use the term "Make money fast with this secret method" or a similar headline. There is no such thing. Money is only earned after putting in time and effort.

I've been working on my blog LewTalon for a couple of months and I still know I have a LONG LONG way to go. Digital marketing is all about learning the ropes and then implementing what you know. The internet is huge, there is probably just as much knowledge on the web then there is in the entire universe. There is still a lot to learn, and master, and the first step to making money is to learn what you are doing.

In my opinion the best way to get started with your own "Success Story" is to research. Research, research and do more research. The good thing is, you've already made the first step, by finding warriorforum. It is such a good resource when it comes to learning digital marketing. But don't fall in the trap of trying to find the fast/easy way out of it.

The best way to work online is to find people who know information, and have them guide you to learn. Like learning in school with a teacher, the same concept happens here. Find a mentor/teacher, someone who can help you find out more about the niche that you want to follow.

    Anyways, hope this helps!
