Has anyone ever been scammed selling a website on Flippa?

I have one of my sites up for sale on Flippa and a new buyer has met the reserve of $xxxx. I'm concerned because this buyer has no feedback on Flippa - she has no purchase history whatsoever.

I've never sold a site on Flippa before and was wondering once she has the funds sent into escrow, and I've transferred the site over to her, what's stopping her from not releasing the funds?

She does not release the funds. The escrow company takes the funds and they do the releasing once the buyer has deposited the right amount.

I'm confused about whether you are using escrow.com or flippa escrow.
But usually, once the website and domain is transferred, the power lies with the seller.

I am a super seller at Flippa and using Flippa Escrow will protect you 100%. Just specify wire payments only.

I've been selling on Flippa for over 3 years and sold hundreds of sites. It's the job of the Flippa staff to ensure that you get your funds so long as the site has been released. It will be difficult for a potential scammer to rip you off if you are using escrow. I would thank the bidder for the bid and ask them if they have any questions regarding the website. By initiating the conversation you can typically get an idea of what kind of buyer you are dealing with, even before the sale is complete.

It is not uncommon for a completely new buyer to invest in a site.

This is a great question since I am trying to sell a domain that I have had for ever. Even longer than web archives has it listed as the age. Is there a way to remove the paypal and escrow.com as a payment method one your auction is alreay up and running?
