A passion of mine.. but is it profitable?

A long time passion of mine is collecting inspiring quotes and spreading them online through social media. I'm a firm believer in chasing your dreams or any goals that you may set in life. Over the past months, even years I have been struggling with choosing a niche and following my dreams, instead I was jumping from one idea to another a few weeks later.

Now, I stumbled across a similar website that I noticed that is very familiar with what I want to do. As far as selling T-shirts, hats and other products with inspiring and powerful quotes on them, is this a potentially profitable niche that I could make money from and have a passion for at the same time? I want to spread the inspiration to other business owners and people who are out trying to chase what they love to do..

Music and quotes have a huge impact on my way of life... and was thinking about selling products with motivational quotes like this:

InspiredHustler. Gat Inspired. Stay Inspired
#mine #passion #profitable

That could work well if you can create great design with those quotes as ready made or ready to use design, and sell them on marketplace like creativemarket.com or graphicriver.net. Just do it!

You must have firm belief that you can manifest your dreams.

Anything can and will be profitable if you put enough heart into it.

I'll follow your golden advice of putting my heart into chilling on the beach while sippin' on margaritas and hopefully wealth will follow.

      Back to reality and OP.

I think you can create something around quotes.
Foundrmag did it mostly by attracting customers through Instagram with posting motivational quotes on top of pictures.
You could do physical goods, for sure, but that's not the only way to go about this quote "dream" of yours.
You might create an application that has something to do with quotes etc.

Good luck with your project and remember that execution is where it's at! Not dreaming up ideas and not following through.

That site is actually for sale by somebody I know. He's selling it for $500. Don't think he ever did anything with it.

What niche would it fall under? Motivational and inspirational quotes ?

I was thinking about posting interviews of successful business owners and let them explain how they ended up where they are. And creating content that focuses on working hard and focusing on your dreams. Just think it could attract some what attention to people who are looking for some extra motivation.

Here's what you need to do:

    - Reverse engineer websites that are very familiar with what you want to do. How are they getting traffic? How are they selling? Use that to your own advantage

    - Facebook Ads would be good for that kind of offers but make sure you have interesting and somewhat different quotes and make your ads look and feel good

I don't see why that wouldn't be profitable. People want to be inspired (especially business people).

You could even take it a step further by interviewing successful business people and adding other sorts of content to build a buzz and to keep people coming back to the site.

The only way I see that being is profitable is:

    1. Putting advertisements on the page and getting money through that.
    2. Having an optin form on the page and collecting emails which you then sell self-development products too.

  • If it's something you really would enjoy doing them go for it! It's often easier to make money from what you love doing than forcing yourself to do a job you hate

Not trying to be negative but how is this any different that all the other times you have asked similar questions about different ideas.

I struggled with the same thing in the past so the pattern is very real to me. Each new idea is "the one" -- until the next one comes along.

Is this truly your passion - something you will stick to, build up, focus on, and market hard for more than a couple months?

If it's not it's okay - hopefully one day you'll find your way. Just don't fool yourself.

    Good luck.

Apparently they aren't inspired enough to catch misspellings in the title of their website.

    Maybe they need a T-shirt.

Spy your competitors. Do what they are doing to earn money.
IMHO, any niche can be monetized

A lot of competition especially with Facebook and running ads for shirts and what not. Every quote has been used and marketed. Not saying it can't be done just challenging

So you think it's profitable? What suggestions would you have such as blog content and getting the proper traffic?

Quotes and music have a big impact on my daily motivation so I want to somehow tie that in two products getting traffic to the site

The link I provided above, would you buy that site for $500? It comes with an instagram with almost 70K followers as well. Or start from scratch
