It's been so long ago, I can't remember the first time I made money online.

But I do remember starting to try and make money online between 1999 and 2000 and never make a dime for over 2 years.

I also remember when starting making $1,000 to $2,000 a week as an affiliate marketer promoting clickbank products.

This was when not alot of people did not know about making review sites and there were several big launches in the IM/MMO every week.

I use to be able to rank my reviews very easily because there was no competition.

Since then a lot has changed. Clickbank change it's policies for vendors which chased a lot of vendors off to clicksure, google came out with the penguin, the panda , and every other animal (lol) that you could think of and change how sites can rank in there search engines, and there is more competition for rankings because every body knows about using review sites to make money as an affiliate.

It's a lot harder than it use to be to make money online.

    Great job! Keep it up.

I made my first sale in the 90's on eBay flipping collectible toys.

    Don't be discouraged.

Things change, but there's always opportunity. And it's not always about finding something "different" and with "hardly any competition."

It's about doing a better job than your competition and especially, thinking always about improving the lives of your customers.

If you're improving people's lives, they want what you've got.

Everybody sells pizza, but I guarantee that if a new pizza place opens up in my neighborhood tomorrow, I'm checking it out to see how it stacks up against the competition. If they do a good job and really wow me,and really cater to me... they've got a new customer. I don't care how many pizza places are around.

Oh yea, to answer your question, my first dollar was a simple affiliate offer to my very small email list. I was shocked that I really had a commission coming to me.

    Commitment and consistency, my friend.

I was in college promoting a raunchy product, and i had a list of about 65 people. My product was priced at $17. My cousin suggested that i do a sale for 1 day and offer 50% off. I did it, and received 2 sales the next day.

    Fell out of my chair.

That was proof for me that this stuff works. Good luck with you and your marketing endeavors in the future.

      LOVE that story, Randall.

I'll let my impatient, "it's not happening" clients know that one.

50% off... I always say... everybody loves a deal. It hardly matters what it is. 50% is all you need to know
