Build a custom landing page for 1 Amazon affiliate product

I got this idea and I would like to hear the people opinion.

Maybe it's been done before. But I'll just ask anyway.

Would it be a really good idea to create a custom landing page for a specific Amazon product to earn the affiliate commissions?
And drive paid traffic to the landing page?

I don't care about profits. I'm testing this to learn.

Why are you guys opinion?

If it goes out of stock, I'll just stop my campaign.

Has anyone ever done something like what I described above?

It's been done. Chances are very good that you won't make enough to cover your CPC costs though.

It can be done, but you must know what kind of products can be promoted this way and you must buy the right traffic. Not every paid traffic source is the same and the techniques of driving traffic can be very different depending on what paid source you're using. Anyway, it can be done, I'm doing it and you can make nice money that way, but you better learn and do research and do maths before spending money. Otherwise you will alway lose more money than you make.

No need to try to figure this stuff out on your own. Life is to short!

Find out what other top amazon affiliates are doing and do what they are doing.

It's all about testing if you have an idea. Try building a list with your landing page and paid traffic and I think you might find that sales come in from the back end as well.

What PPC network do you have in mind?

It could be a good idea, but whether you make an ROI depends on 3 main factors.

    1. The ad network you use.
    2. What the commission of the product is.
    3. How targeted your traffic is.

If all 3 are good then paid traffic can be worth it.

  • Yes it works, it's been done a lot of times but you might need to plot how much is your budget so as not to overspend and go beyond your potential commission for the product.

Let's say you spend $100 for paid traffic and you only earn about $80 for commission.. something to think about. There are plenty of threads here and resources online how to do it.

    What's your niche btw?

It's a good idea, but I think that it's always better to offer the buyer more products to choose from.

If you plan on using SEM or even PPC for driving traffic in such a highly competitive niche, you will most likely fall flat on your face. What I've always done is engage targeted demographics through third party venues such as online/offline trade publications with nominally-priced relevant products and build lists of buyers.

Subsequent promotions are then made to my customers at incrementally higher end products; each product with its own stand-alone sales page. As mentioned, you need to also be proactive in quickly changing to alternative products when they are out of stock or no longer available.
