Ehow.com Pulling Articles

There have been many complaints lately about Ezinearticles and their approval process. Now I suddenly got an email telling me one of my Ehow.com articles was removed. This article had been up a few weeks, had gotten about 1,000 views and was on Page 2 for a fairly competitive key phrase, so I'm not too happy about that. What was their reason? They are "cleaning up" their article base and enforcing the rules more strictly. My article was "missing steps." For ehow, the gimmick is that everything is a "how to" article and must contain a certain number of steps. I thought I had conformed to this, but you can't argue with a directory.

The "how to" theme is good, but having to write every article according to such a fixed formula is a bit limiting. What's worse is accepting an article and then pulling it weeks later. Ehow is, in some ways, a more desirable site to use because their articles are accepted at more social bookmarking sites and seem to be perceived as higher authority and less spammy than other directories. Still, some of their policies are a little annoying.
