I guess that twitter is getting less traffic to me. I have about 400 followers on twitter. Some are niche related some are not. However, I am sure that there are no scammers or porn people... ![]() I used to post my blogs as tweets, But I could not get more page impressions or traffic. I just wonder, how you all get more traffic via twitter? Note: I do not have much backlinks for that blog, Only Twitter. |

First off... 400 followers is nearly nothing. If you want to see success with twitter, you need a large following. At the time of this post i have nearly 8,500 followers and I average around 50 visitors to any website I tweet (in a single tweet). One thing you have to understand with twitter traffic is that you cannot sell to these people. Twitter traffic are information seekers, so keep sending them to blog posts like you mentioned! You'll start to see more significant results once you hit the 2000 follower mark. Hope that helps. |

Followers who are targeted to your niche is key and also having posts that are original and beneficial to your followers will bring in the traffic. I once wrote a pillar post about twitter on one of my newer blogs. That one post and one tweet gave me more traffic in one day that I had gotten in a whole mth. If you write Great Content then your blog will spread virally on twitter. Adding a Tweet this button or similar may help as well. It makes it easier for them to tweet your post. If you haven't done this already. I actually get alot of my sales and good sub affiliates from twitter. Maybe not directly through twitter but thru word of mouth from one of my tweets or posts. I hope this helps |

I don't agree that twitter people cannot be sold to. If you are adding the right niche specific people, then of course they can. How do I know, because I do it. I do believe you should treat twitter like you would an optin list. If the only thing you are trying to do is SELL to people, then you will have a problem on your hands. People will begin to unsuscribe, or speaking twitter, unfollow you. I have a few accounts on twitter, the smallest being some 20k followers. Here are a few tips. (1) Get more followers, as mentioned by someone else. (2) Try different times with your tweets. Remember that they are receiving hundreds of tweets per minute, depending on how many people they are following. If you have boring headlines, you will receive dismal results. Also depending on the location of your twitter'ers they could be sleep when you are online ![]() (3) Provide them with something of value.. Make them laugh.. Ask questions, seem human. Don't just be some robot sales machine.. Link to articles from CNN. Or others that are in the popular topics. Hope this helps, John from (Therichbastards) |

I echo what Adam said. Gather a large following, and then interact with them. Post links to blog posts every once in while. It works!

| You can make a sale from those users but you cant sell to them....basically you need to provide something worth their time something that is valuable to them within a 140 characters and then you can do the selling on your landing page.....there's not enough room to sell because of the twitter character limit....so it's best to stream the traffic by being a normal user and as folks land on your page you can use your landing page skills to get that sale.
