Since creating a domain with 1and1 i have had nothing but phone calls from companies from "india" clamining to be website designers and after telling them i am not interested i have had several more calls from the same company. I checked my mails and i have had at least 15 emails from different clients asking do i want their services.

How have they received this information to contact me the day i create the new domain?

Similar problem. Internet is open to the public, so it's not
to difficult for these service companies to start annoying you.

I'm guessing they have developed some software that monitors "WHO IS" and are alerted whenever a new domain is registered online.

Just blacklist their email address and don't pay attention to them anymore.

Anytime you register a domain, pay the extra for the privacy protection. This will prevent all this. I do this and never get phone calls, emails or snail mail. Trust me, it's worth it.

    Who knows LOL.

1and1 could have rented your name and information for money - acting like a list broker. They could even be in a joint venture with some companies. Do you have WHOIS info blocked on your account? There's no telling what these companies do these days. See if you can transfer your domain name to a different provider.
