As an Amazon affiliate, I'm not referring any sales these days but before one week, it was OK, making sales one or two daily...

Are you also experiencing, Amazon affiliates?

Actually I have found that with an Economic Downturn there comes a point where people want more product and courses to better themselves financially

You've been round the traps a few times I'd say given the observation.

Just like after every disaster, terrorist attacks, tsunamis, quakes.

        Everyone gets all "Nesty"

The nest builders squirrel away money and then get restless and because they are not traveling but staying home they look around and try to improve their lives.

When I was teaching hobby framing classes I noticed this trend several times over a 20 year period.

        Guess what?

We just had a major whitegood retailer bail out of a large (huge) tenancy adjacent to my "offline" business with little notice.

Surprise...surprise...a month later the leading "diy home improvement chain" is moving in and I can feel (despite the slow economy) there will be upside for my business.

I'm reviving the courses and processes that boomed for us every time it has gone this way.

...and now we have the benefit of online to build even further.

        Tough...but what is the saying?

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going"

The long term businesses we do business with all know it is tight but they also know they are in it for the long haul.

Regardless of the worry caused the best businesses seem to flourish most in times of adversity.

        Best regards,

        Ozi

    Huh?

    Check your Google rankings.

Google makes frequent changes to it's algorithm- rendering the most sophisticated of tactics obsolete.

Make sure that your on-page optimization is up to par, and if Google is your Sole source of traffic- try to diversify.

I think lack of traffic diversification might be your issue.

Yes, traffic is main, but there is not much difference in traffic, a little less than one week ago I was getting.

I'm referring approx 35 to 40 clicks daily to Amazon but no sales these days.....

I have analytic and it shows steady traffic from Google and some referring websites.

If you can find a way to double the amount of clicks you refer to Amazon than you can increase the amount of sales.

The way to beat any online 'slowdown' is to grab more market share. Besides, it's not good to stay at 35-40 clicks forever.

Those are pretty small numbers to be basing any assumptions on.

Sometimes it is just the ebb and flow of what is going on.

I've tended to not pay too much attention to short term fluctuations as you cannot always second guess what the visitor is doing.

Also how much of the traffic is real? - (I've asked myself that question numerous times)

Are you only in one niche or building across multiples?

        Best regards,

        Ozi

Approx. 100 unique visitors daily that include both search engines traffic and referring traffic.

I agree, but with your customrs list, things never go slow

If you are doing list building right, your business should show growth not decrease.

Plus if the internet blew up, tomorrow you still have it as an asset and foundation / commodity that is very precious.

You can do specific research, but Amazon's revenue continues to grow and is up in the first quarter of 2016 compared to last year. The U.S. job market is not as healthy as it should be, and our economy has grown at a snails pace for years, but people are still shopping online in record numbers.

Often making money online comes down to what you are selling and how many eyeballs you are getting on your offer. Improve that and you will make more money.

It can't be helped. Google changes its algo everytime. The best way to stay longer in the is to identify a highly profitable niche, identify your keywords, build your audience in social media and create unique content.

There are 50,000,000 (1 in 6) Americans receiving foodstamps, the workforce participation in USA is the lowest it's been in 40 years, and the American government is printing money so as to prop up the economy and the stock market.

Meanwhile, most people couldn't define "quantitative easing" if you offered them a free lunch, but think the stock market is booming due to bustling industry. (lulz).

Oh yeah, and the USA is in $20,000,000,000,000 (That's twenty trillion dollars) national debt. The USA is also burdened by over $102,000,000,000,000 (That's one hundred and two trillion dollars) in unfunded liabilities.

But yeah, everything is just fine. USA is economically sound. Nothing to see here.

In the Amazon discussion forum for affiliates (within Amazon) there's a thread called Daily Trends in which several long-term successful affiliates have discussed a definite slow-down in sales over the past several weeks.

These people have same traffic, same level of clicks to Amazon, just not nearly as many sales as they are normally do.

It sounds like the same situation the OP is having.

The best remedy for no sales is more sales. Ramp up the paid advertising, and earn more money per purchase. This means if you promote low priced products now, you should switch those products out, and put high priced products in. Then ramp up the paid advertising... and keep it ramped up.

Things tend to slow down on the net as the weather gets warmer and when college students depart for the summer. People usually spend more time outdoors and are less likely to be focused on their devices. Even more so when Public School gets out and families take vacations.

Certainly, can't say so for certain, but this may have something to do with the slowdown you're experiencing. Brick and mortar retail stores are affected as well. Might a temporary lull for you or it might be seasonal. Either way, the good news is that things start to pick up again in September.

I'm based in the UK and things have slowed down on a number of fronts, but that always happens here when their is a voting going on. This month we had local elections and next month we have the EU referendum. While big things like this are going on business tend to hold major buying decisions until they can see the results.

I have a couple of big engineering clients that make equipment that goes in to big petroleum plants, they both sell around the world and they are seeing big slow downs in trade. They have put it down to their clients being worried by big exchange rates swings if the UK leaves the EU and/or if Trump becomes president. So their sector seems to slowing down spending in case they get caught out by an exchange swing - On a project costing tens of millions an exchange swing could literally wipe them out. This has a knock on effect of course
