Which Amazon guru to follow?

With the constant barrage of webinars and WSOs claiming to be the cutting edge on how to build an Amazon Ecomm business from scratch, it can be very confusing. Gurus telling you other programs are ineffective and outdated compared to the latest Amazon algorithms. Compound that with the exorbitant costs of these programs running into the thousands and it can make for a landscape of conflicting, expensive advice. Many gurus also claim do you not even need to carry your own inventory.

So, I would like to hear from the objective people who are in the trenches right now having success building an Amazon business from scratch. Whose advice do you trust where you have confidence in their support and their strategy as being cutting edge and effective? Obviously a lot of work and dedication is required, but would like to start off down the right path and avoid tangents.

Thanks
George

I agree 100% she had a link in her signature about a month ago on one of her Amazon courses. (it was free) She gave away the farm with that information and the OP Should look to see if it is still Available. It would be time well spent learning from someone who walks the talk !

Here is a link to one of her posts. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ffiliates.html You can learn more about her reading her profile.

Erica (Sojourn) actively runs her own Amazon affiliate business (has for years), and is a stickler for collecting statistical data and using it to analyze WHY the things that work, work - as well as WHY the things that don't work, don't.

She not only puts out well-researched products, but often updates those products as the environment (i.e. Amazon policies, etc.) changes. I give her a thumbs up!!!

i'll bump another for Jan Roos... I took his first course 4 or 5 years ago now and while I never scaled it to the millions I wanted, I've been running a successful side business with Amazon for years because of the info I got from him.

I did find Erica's Free Amazon Affiliate course as well as her Extreme Review $39 WSO. Although her WSO was started in 2011, that thread still appears to be active with her responding promptly.

I thought Jan Roos training is focused on Amazon affiliate marketing, not Amazon ecommerce.

I appreciate you pointing out that distinction. I also believe Erica (Sojourn) training is focused on affiliate marketing as well. I wanted to understand people's guru suggestions on both Amazon areas.

I have read other threads here which allude to the direction Amazon may be going in to squeeze affiliates out of PrimeNow and mobile sales commissions. So, wouldn't that make setting up your own Ecommerce business (vs affiliate) more viable in terms of control. Excuse my ignorance if this isn't accurate, but wouldn't I want to pursue the Ecommerce angle with more long term potential and control?

I didn't talk to any so called Gurus read any books.. Do a little research and watch a lot of video on Youtube. You will get a ton of info, some good some bad. It's really not that hard to do. The problem is people over think it and buy into that it's hard to do and build a business; it's not. I could give you 10 things to do and you will make money. It took me 2 weeks to sell my first product on Amazon and it was for .99 Bottomline, don't over think it, stick to the basics and have fun..
Appreciate you sharing your wisdom. Will send you a PM. Agree that perfection is the enemy of progress, but it's nice to learn from and avoid making the same mistakes others did. I am just a fan of proven roadmaps which minimize the learning curve. I am also starting to think the ECommerce (vs affiliate) route provides more overall control and may have more longevity.

If you're looking for a guru on Amazon Affiliate, I recommend you to follow Spencer Haws. He is the author of Long Tail Pro. You can learn a lot of knowledge from him about Amazon Affiliate. He always updates strategies following Google algorithm. But he's only training about niche site, not authority site.
But if you are a starter, you should start with a niche site than an authority site.

Here is his website: Niche Pursuits - Find Business Ideas, Niche Websites, and much more!

Here's another vote for Erica Stone...

She covers the bases better than anyone I've seen...

Yes, there's a few that are good out there...yet my
    personal pick would be Erica...

Why, well, I know the quality of her instruction, the quality
of her products...and the quality of her customer service...

Above and beyond what I know about many of the others...

    Hope this helps...

Erica Stone - get on her mailing list and when she offers coaching by email - do it. You will end up with a site guaranteed to make money and you will build it as she looks over your shoulder and helps. I believe she does this about 2x's/year but only offers to her list. I now have a template I can replicate at will.

And I am another Erica Stone follower.

I also follow Paula and Wanda.

If you combine rica's Xtreme Review with the Amazonian Profit Plan you have all that you need to make an authority Amazon affiliate website that brings in 100's or 1000's on a monthly basis.
