Took me a few months to quit my job because of Kindle publishing.

Make sure to follow a good system and understands how to rank your book on the first page for your keyword properly.

Don't fall into the trap of so many people who think that because their book is good ( most of the time their book is not even good, but they think they are good author) it will sell. It's a best SELLER book, you have to know how to SELL it.

Marketing is the most important thing. I would rather have an average book with super marketing than a really good book with poor marketing.

        Thanks.

Shouldn't cost you more than around $40. It depends how long your books is, if it is fiction or non-fiction etc etc. I prefer smaller books so they cost less to outsource.

Good deal! It's a good thing you're taking action and putting it up on Kindle. I got started a long time ago with Kindle. My maximum income at the time was around $300/month. It was good money to me, then they started clearing house and getting rid of duplicate products that I was selling that other people were selling too. Price wars and stuff. After that I just decided to try ebay (which worked great, I became powerseller and top rated seller in first 3 months), and that that gave me the confidence to put up my website (not the one I have now). Anyway that's how I started. You should sign up for the Kindle Warriors section here on the forum for great ideas. Good luck!

    Hi A,

Here's what you do: figure out your driver. Like, why you want to publish the Kindle. Because if you are doing this to have fun, and to free other folks, you WILL kill it with Kindle.

I wrote and self-published 125 Kindle eBooks on Amazon. I am just promoting them freely now. Giving one out each week during a 5 day, free window.

I wrote that many eBooks because I have fun writing. Twas easy for me. As far as results, if I told you all of them that I promote freely (5 day giveaway) make the top 10 best seller list - and they do - or that NY Times Best Selling Authors promoted them, that could inspire you. But once you start peeping my sales stats, a terrible thing happens; you focus on the money others have made, to validate you, and to motivate you.

I did not retire to the tropics as a full time blogger and kindle publishing machine because I limited myself to some other guy's Kindle royalties. Hey, these guys are AWESOME! But I made fun and freedom my drivers, so I live a life of fun and freedom. I didn't look outside to see what's possible. Look within.

Get clear on your dreams. You'll live them. But let your dreams guide you.

Just the advice of a guy who's written 125 bite-sized eBooks and who lives in places like Bali and Fiji for months at a time

OK, I'll cave and share 1 result: when I did a promo blitz on 1 of my eBooks it made the #1 best selling self help eBook on all of Amazon. *All* of Amazon. But that was never my driver. Doing what's fun to me is. That's how you do really neat stuff. You follow your fun. Not stats.

Signing off from rainy but lovely NJ.

Looking forward to your first release!

You might want to consider promoting your book on social media platforms. Join book groups on Facebook, etc. Create your own fan page, and get followers to your page.
