How would you test an info product? e.g. in the thread

Hey, Warriors!

Let's say you have an idea for a new info product and you want to test it while spending as little money as possible (while still having a valid test). What would you do?

E.G.:

a) Put up a banner on BSA for example, and see what the CTR is (at the end of the link have maybe just a squeeze page);

b) have a PPC campaign on BING, 500 clicks, linking to a sales page where you offer a standard price and product but no upsells (obviously more expensive than the first one).

These are JUST examples, any other ideas (probably better ones) welcomed !

Thanks!

    PPC to a squeeze page offering a free report closely related to the topic. Then create a 3-5 email autoresponder sequence that promotes a closely related affiliate product. If it converts well, then I would think about creating my own product.

    Never create the product first especially if no one else has already created a similar product and is already selling it.

    For testing a niche, I'd register a new domain name that's related to my product's niche... then do a simple Adwords and Bing Ads test to see if the people in that niche will even subscribe to FREE information (free ebook on squeeze page).

    If the conversion rate is high, I dive in and try to sell. If the conversion rate is low (with good traffic and everything)... I cancel the domain, start over, and test another niche in the same way.

    It seems more like you are testing the effectiveness of you ads - more so than the info product itself. Perhaps its best to put up a squeeze page, then entice them to subscribe. Offer them a few chapters through email marketing, and then see the open rate for each email. I think you can determine from this how much interest is in your potential product.
