Podcasting + Wordpress = Help For one Technophobe

Hello Warriors.

I love blogging. I have blogged in a couple of niches I am really passionate, and I have recently started up quite a personal blog which talks about elements of both my life and business.

What I am keen to try out on this blog and one other nihe blog is podcasting. I have also been employed to do some professional blogging for a blog with quite a large readership. I think blogging really adds value to content and can be a great incentive for a newsletter, and since I am a talker, it's an ideal way for me to create content!

So, my problem is that I am barely technical enough to turn on my TV. I have played with some podcasting plugins on wordpress, but they fall terrifyingly short of adequate instructions for a techno-n00b like me!

I recently checked out and started using a service called "podbean.com". Now, that seems great, but I am worried about whether I retain the rights to my content by using that service, and I am also aware that they charge for bandwidth and data storage etc. So I'll be paying out money for something I am giving away free.

I appreciate I would probably have to cover this in hosting costs anyway, and that doesn't really concern me, but if I am going to have to pay for it either way, I'd rather the podcasts were on MY server.

Has anyone ever done any podcasting at any level? Can any podcasting Warriors share any tips, advice, experience or insights?

Yours Faithfully

A frightened techno-n00b!

P.s. I know I should be able to work out these plugins after all the work I have done with wordpress, but I can;t for the life of me work it out!
