In your case, the best way to make money from your blog is to offer a free gift (like an ebook) to people who give you their email address, and monetize that email list.

Once you start building an email list, you can recommend products or services to them... the personal development niche has a lot of affiliate products that pay a fair commission rate, so you don't even need to make your own (although a lot of them are woo-based).

I would do a few things to monetise your blog.
1. You can start by using one blog post a week as a product review. Review a product and post your affiliate link to that product at the end of the post.
2. Put some google ads on your site, right hand side towards the bottom is least annoying.
3. Make sure you have your webhosting provider as an affiliate link at the bottom of your site, if people like your site they may look to use the same webhost
4. stategically place affiliate links to products in blog posts (not product reviews). Make sure they are a logical fit to what you are talking about
5. Make a 'products we love' page on your site and use the Amazon Affiliate Program. You can place some great widgits from there that scroll through products applicable to your niche. If someone clicks through to Amazon from there, even if they buy a completely different product you will get commission.

and of course, as everyone else has said, capture email addresses so you can build your list!

In my opinion Affiliate commission is a good source of making money from Blog. First of all you need to select a product which has demand in the market and offering good commission. Then you can create blog post with detail information regarding that product and use your affiliate link.
