Over 1,000 sales of my eBook on various sites. Building my own website for it, which road do I take?

I've been a wholesale Reseller on ebay for over 7 years. I wrote an eBook on how to make $1000's a month in few weeks by following my methods, it's a step by step with screenshots guiding the reader all of the way, about 43 pages. Sold over 1,100 copies mostly on Kindle and a few other sites, have made a pretty penny off it so far. Over 500 positive review, 4.8/5 average. Began selling it in January 2015

I want to go further though. I want to build a website around my guide. I know the basics: buy a domain, buy hosting, buy a theme, install wordpress... But then what? I know this Niche is lucrative so I'm pretty sure I can get some traffic.

Couple questions:

1) Should I aim to build a large site with a lot of OC articles with all of the SEO mumble jumble and make money via ads displayed throughout the website and gain an audience who will come back for more?

2) Should I just sell my eBook on my own website to avoid 3rd party selling platform fees? Wouldn't that look gimmicky to a lot of people? Just one of those one page long site with testimonials and the works with a "buy it now" button? How would I be nonchalant about it?

Any and all tips, advices, do's or dont's or criticism is greatly appreciated. I'm confused on how I should approach this.

Thank you everyone

Hi. Is this the only product you're selling in this niche?

My advice would be the following:

    1. Build a website around the niche offering lots of helpful advice. SEO is good, but I wouldn't worry about that for now.

    2. If possible, edit the book you are selling on Amazon to include your new website link. Hundreds of targeted customers who have already bought from you will visit your site.

    3. Create new products in this niche. For example, take you eBook and make it into an awesome video product. You can charge a lot more and many people love to buy similar content in different formats (video, audio, eBook etc.).

    4. In the meantime, keep updating your website with great free content. Be sure to collect emails from your visitors, because they are gold (especially the visitors who have already bought your eBook on Amazon.

    I hope this helps you!

    Hey alienbrayn,

Congrats on your success thus far!

You mention a either or but absolutely nothing wrong with an authority site that also highlights your "Resource" for sale along with all the great free content you will provide on the site as well.

Also big thumbs up to AnthonyKells comments as well.
