Success as in getting traffic somehow to your social network and generating sales? Only way i see in generating sales.. maybe is if you had alot of friends and some1 looked at your myspace profile, other than that, how else can you take advantage of myspace for example?

What has worked for me, are the ning.com social sites. I tend to get higher returns on my efforts thru those than I do from my MySpace account and I have over 4k MySpace "friends". MySpace yields less than 1% of those 4k people actually responding. Using ning.com social sites caused one of my personal sites membership to jump up around 300% from where it was before I started promoting. It did so in like 3 weeks! I still do some MySpace promoting but my biggest returns come from other places. Social sites can and will work but you have to just find which ones work for you. |

Whenever I social bookmark my sites, I do it just for the backlinks and it's my routine anyway. But honestly, I've seen no results.

I have a few "core" social sites that I use.I have made the profile pages on each one with a link back to my blog, but submit other peoples content to them.If you submit good stuff, then people are going to visit your site to learn more.Thatīs what I think anyway. Direct selling on social sites donīt work in my opinion. |

I've received more success with LinkedIn. A lot people aren't looking the LinkedIn as social network that can drive quality and targeted traffic. What's makes them different is that I was able to really target my market easier to build my expertise and drive traffic. Just recognizing the benefits I can drive traffic to my site on any given day. Check them out and see how you can become that magnet. Continue to have a great week! Won't Be Denied, C.F. Jackson |

I KNOW no one here wants to hear this, because at the core of IM is the leveraged approach, but...if you build and develop relationships...get referrals, maximize your visibility on the site, etc...you WILL make sales. I own a successful social network...I have seen it happen on a daily basis...

If you're looking to do some work with social networking sites google: socialnetworkslist You'll find a directory of over 4000 social networks you could use. I'm not sure though what kind of results or what you could do with them though other than the standard stuff. |

As an ex-nightclub owner/producer, I tend to look at the whole net social thing differently than how I've seen most; (not all -- most). Social networking on the net is pretty much (IMHO) the same as the night club scene in the 3D world. Each site is an entity in and of itself and within that entity if you find your niche, you can be as successful as you choose. That success could then filter over; as (staying in suit) the whole mashup thing is the same as club network promoting. (IMHO) Those who figure this out will be able to pick and choose (at will) how successful social networking will be for them. Food for thought PLP, tecHead |
